The 2017 Barolo Coste di Rose is pretty, supple and inviting. Some of the tannins need to resolve, but this is a young Barolo after all. The Coste di Rose doesn't have the sensuality of the Albe or the pedigree of the Viole, but it nevertheless has so much to give. Crushed flowers, sweet red berry fruit, mint, crushed rocks and sage are some of the many notes that linger. I won't be surprised if the 2017 is even better than this note suggests once it softens a bit.  Galloni

Stepping up from the Bourgogne level wines in a big way. Building tension length and depth. Again excellent composure, tighter now as it should be. Give this 12 months and you’ll be in a very happy place. Entrancing nice white flowers on grapefruit. A little more energy. Excellent texture, chalky phenolic acid complex that works brilliantly. An edge of grapefruit esque bitterness. A wonderful fine example. The mid-palate depth is the thing that demonstrates the step up in quality here.

A fresher mix is comprised by notes of both red and black cherry, dark raspberry, earth and a violet top note. There is fine volume and intensity to the bigger-bodied flavors that flash good minerality on the firm, powerful and focused finale.
