The 2023 Primofiore is more savory than sweet, opening with dusty rose tones, a beguiling whiff of tangerine, wild strawberries and stone dust. It is round and energetic in style, perfumed with violet and lavender tones as ripe blackberry fruits swirl throughout. The Primafiore is a little hidden gem in the Quintarelli range. It's a great intro to just how skilled the Quintarelli team is at making wines blended from native and French varietals. An approach we see in their Ca del Merlo and top of the wazza Alzero.The little brother to the Alzero, red floral notes, dusty spice, orange peel and ripe leafy cassis fruit. Very perfumed and intense now, with hints of lavender and ripe blueberry. The finish is long, with very fine, chalky tannins.And
