This is very, very clever winemaking! This is very, very clever winemaking. Typically blended from a couple of strong vintages separated by a few year with a good slug of reserve wine builds richness and mid-palate weight. Egly-Ouriet Brut Rosé Grand Cru Base 14 NV

Blend | Bouzy, Champagne

One of the greatest rosé wines of Champagne and a wine of haunting finesse. The blend is 65% Pinot Noir and 35% Chardonnay with 60% coming from the great 2014 vintage and 40% vins de réserve (split almost equally between 2013 and 2012). Then there is the 5% of Egly’s Coteaux Champenois Rouge that gives the wine its colour and a great deal of character as well. Dosage is a negligible 3g/l.
