Grenache from Macedon, Victoria

Dhillon by Bindi Col Mountain Grenache Rosé 2024

This Grenache from Heathcote received a few hours skin contact while being gently pressed, fermented without the addition of yeast to dryness in old French barrels and spent five months maturing on yeast lees. It is a delicately coloured rosé, fresh and fragrant of roses, red currant and cranberry with a fresh, smooth, dry, textured palate. It balances the line of having enough mouthfeel and flavour without having too much. It's proven to be a pleasurable wine to make as the harvest date/ripene

Riesling from Macedon, Victoria

Dhillon by Bindi Glenhope Riesling 2023

This new project from the granite soils in the northern end of the Macedon Ranges at 460m above sea level is an exciting addition to our activities. The vineyard was established in 1995 and the fruit has ostensibly been “lost” interstate until new Victorian owners took over in spring 2021. The new regime has quickly invested in the infrastructure and fine-tuned activities and several top producers are sourcing fruit from this excellent site. The Riesling was harvested in mid April and wild y

Chardonnay from Macedon, Victoria

Dhillon by Bindi Glenhope Chardonnay 2023

This is the second wine we have made from this nearly 30 year old Macedon Ranges vineyard. The Glenhope vineyard is planted at 450m above sea level on the granite soil at the northern end of the region. The wine is made in the same way we make Bindi Chardonnays; destemmed berries go into the press and the juice is taken straight from the tray into the barrels, around 30% of which are new small French oak. The fermentation occurs without yeast addition and the wine remains on all lees for ten mon

Chardonnay from Macedon, Victoria

Dhillon by Bindi Glenhope Chardonnay 2025

This project from the granite soils in the northern end of the Macedon Ranges at 460m above sea level is an exciting addition to our activities. The vineyard was established in 1995 and the fruit has ostensibly been “lost” interstate until new Victorian owners took over in spring 2021. This fragrant, stoney, gently spicy Chardonnay has delicious, subtle fruit complexity of lemon, mandarin and yellow plum. It is, of course, youthful and vigorous, with creamy texturtal mouthfeel that builds po

Shiraz/Syrah from Macedon, Victoria

Place of Changing Winds ‘Harcourt’ Syrah 2022

Liking the secondary nature of the flavour and aroma profile. Textural with a nice edge of grip that adds intrigue and a thirst-quenching nature to the wines. Earthy with a darkness. Still tightly coiled, it's a wine that will reveal much more with a couple of days open in bottle. Beautiful perfume violets and blue / red fruits with a little graphite. Fun piss.“Highly perfumed, red berries, some cranberry zestiness, wild scree and herbs in a pepper-meets-alpine greenery kind of whiff,

White Blend from Macedon, Victoria

Place of Changing Winds ‘Harcourt’ Marsanne Roussanne 2023

Rob & Remy talk about chasing phenolics and golden ripeness, tasting the skins. It shows in the personality of the wine, savoury textural even oily. Pear & ginger fruits with a perfume dancing over the top. That cleansing silvery line of bitterness that plays well. Fruits come with time in the glass. A little more freshness and energy than previous iterations that include Heathcote fruit.“This is such a wonderful wine its success is in its concentration of flavour and texture (

Shiraz/Syrah from Macedon, Victoria

Dhillon by Bindi Col Mountain Shiraz 2017

This wine, to state the obvious, has been quite a while coming! In 2014 we began making experimental ferments using four clones from this exciting vineyard and decided to mature the blended bottled wines until we felt they were settled and singing. The 2017 Col Mountain is based on the smooth and aromatic Shiraz clones PT23 and 1654 with a little of the robust and rich Yalumba and R6WV28.The Col Mountain wines, from deep red soil with a significant amount of shattered rock, are earthier and

White Blend from Macedon, Victoria

Place of Changing Winds ‘Tradition’ White 2022

“So the wine is two thirds a marsanne and roussanne blend and the rest a considered portion of chardonnay. Fancy oak, as is often the way of POCW, is also applied. I loved this from hello. Texture, weight, a slice of fresh cut, just ripe stone fruit acidity, a fuzz to the overall feel with some dollops of nougat amongst it all. Fragrant, full flavoured yet refreshing, a saline trill that speaks of minerality. It’s a cuddly wine with enough zestiness to refresh with each sip. Delicious drinki

Pinot Noir from Macedon, Victoria

Place of Changing Winds ‘Between Two Mountains’ Pinot Noir 2022

I had to have a bottle before our stock ran out! Ripped the cork out of the last bottle in stock. Drank it over 3 days. My note simply read 'GET MORE'! Although this wine has increased in price considerably over the years, so has the quality.'Between Two Mountains' stands held high amongst its peers from Burgundy's Côte de Nuits that sell for far more. The purity, harmony, texture, flow, complexity, energy, perfume and layering are a demonstration of the hard work in the vineyard and de

Transparency with excellent shape and just a little grip. Transcendent perfume, rising over restrained fruit of significantly more length over the Mari Mango. Layered complex and quite delicious.Paul Kaan, Win Decoded“This is the only pinot noir from 2023 from POCW. About a third is whole bunch across all the clones and sites on the estate vineyard. The wine ends up in Stockinger barrels for 21 months. Serious approach. A very good wine. Very. Fine, tight, tense, succulent, dark cher

Pinot Noir from Macedon, Victoria

Bindi Block Darshan Pinot Noir 2023

The 2023 Block 8 begins with sweet fruits; red and dark cherry and red plum. Rhubarb and undergrowth appear with creaminess and brown spices adding additional complexity. Darshan like low cropping levels provide for a palate that is full to begin, creamy, silky, seamless in tannin flow, very long and structured. The emphatic and deliciously satisfying palate rolls on and on. It will improve for seven years and hold for that time again at the least. Michael D

The 2024 Darshan comes from similarly tiny cropping levels in a warmer season. The nose is lifted by sweet red fruits with some darker fruits working with the undergrowth It is very complex. The palate is fresh and creamy, energetic, chewy, vigorous, seamless and flowing. It will continue to build complexity and suppleness over six plus years and live well beyond. Michael D
