The unique yeast that grows on top of the sherry protecting it from oxidation. When aged under flor, a wine is considered to be undergoing biological maturation. The flor yeast consuming oxygen, alcohol, and, volatile acidity, in turn the produce metabolites that add unique characters and textures to the wine. Each Bodega has a unique endemic flor, that as Jesús from Equipo Navazos would say, is one of the two sherry terroirs, the other the vineyard.

Elio Grasso Barolo Ginestra Casa Matè 2021

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barolo

The 2021 Barolo Ginestra Casa Matè is fabulous. Bright and transparent, with captivating depth, the 2021 is a stunning beauty. Enveloping balsamic notes make a strong opening statement that remains a theme here. Blue/purplish fruit, lavender, spice and blood orange all come alive in the glass. What a wine!Antonio Galloni, Vinous 97 Points

Clemens Busch Riesling Marienburg 1er Grosses-Gewächs 'Rothenpfad' RESERVE 2019
DRY
Aged on the lees for two years or longer, the 2019 Marienburg Rothenpfad Reserve is precise and intense on the concentrated, elegant and finely spicy nose with fermented green pepper, mango and delicate sur lie aromas. Round and textured on the palate, this is a full-bodied, intense and lush, concentrated yet juicy Riesling with crystalline acidity and lingering salinity. Oddero Barolo ‘Villero’ 2019

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barolo

One of my favourite Crus.Take the Barolo add 3 more layers for aroma, flavour and tannin. Ramp up the sophistication of the mouthfeel and you're kinda close to where the Villero sits. Awesome side by side with Sordo's Villero. Different in style. Both fantastic wines, you can see the common thread through the two. With fruit from Castiglione Falletto, the 2019 Barolo Villero is graceful and light with a beautifully silky approach to the palate. It is pleasing to the eye, thanks to the

The 2023 Vosne-Romanée Les Suchots ler Cru has a floral bouquet, with wilted rose petals infusing the vivacious red cherry/crushed strawberry fruit and just a touch of incense. Very poised, the palate is medium-bodied with smooth tannins. It is slightly ferrous toward the finish that lingers nicely. This is not a powerful Vosne-Romanée, but it will drink well for 12 to 15 years. Very fine.Neal Martin, Vinous 92-94 Points
