Sottimano Barbaresco ‘Pajorè’ 2019

Nebbiolo | Treiso, Barbaresco

From one of the famed Cru's of the Commune of Treiso, Barbaresco. A classic, superb fruit of depth and considerable length here, backed by long tannins of excellent mouthfeel. Loads going on with darker fruits and an array of complexing earthy, savoury notes, spices and blood orange adding layer after layers of subtle complexity. Plenty in the tank here too. Classic Barbaresco. Wait 5 years before trying.

Benoît Moreau Volnay 1er Cru Santenots 2022

Pinot Noir | Volnay, Burgundy

Both Alex & Benoît made a Volnay 1er Cru Santenots in 2022.Officially located just south of the Volnay border in the commune of Meursault, the vineyard's Chardonnays must take the Meursault title. The graceful white shows precision balance and a sense of finesse. Long and satiny on the palate, with vibrant, fine china like acidity acting as a springboard for layered flavours of nectarine, yellow plum and persimmon fruit, plus lemon oil, minerally salt and stone notes. Offers hints of mountain herbs and white pepper. Though hard to swap sipping today, this should also be a showstopper with cellaring.Wine Spectator 95 points

Giovanni Sordo Barolo 'Parussi' 2015
The Bold!

Giovanni Sordo Barolo ‘Parussi’ 2015

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barolo

Showing tannins of Castiglione Falletto, even and long. Darker and brooding. This is going to a cracker in time. Was immense after a day in the glass! This is the darkest of the 4 Castiglione cru, with its dark red fruits of cherry and cranberry. It usually shows more immediate plummy ripeness and overt generosity, but this time it’s more tightly wound. Plenty of texture and flavour, but needs time. A beauty.
