Riesling from Saar, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Godfather of the Saar makes truly special wine deserving of the title. AP: 05 22. The 2021er Wiltinger braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese is a sweet wine with a beautiful nose made of orchard fruits, cassis, floral elements, bergamot, chalk, and smoke. The wine is beautifully filigreed and elegant on the palate.A subtle touch of whipped cream adds some depth and silkiness to the overall focused and zesty experience. The finish is really to die for as it is both creamy and hugely zest, as one
Chardonnay from Meursault, Côte du Beaune
About Faiveley Based in Nuits-St-Georges, the famous Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 and in more recent times, the domaine has greatly expanded its vineyards across the entire Côte d’Or. The Chassagne comprises six parcels Benoît inherited from Domaine Bernard Moreau. The most northerly of these sites is En Journoblot, which borders Criots-Bâtard. The core of the bottling comes from three more centrally located vineyards: Voillenot Dessus and Les Chambres under the 1er Cru Maltroie, and Les Masures under the 1er Cru Champ Gains. The most southerly parcel is La Platière, which sits below the Abbaye de Morgeot climat. Altogether, these plots cover a surface of 1.4 h
Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet, Côte du Beaune
“It has a lifted nose with green apple, a touch of petrichor and just a small reduction. The palate is well balanced with lovely poise. Touches of noisettes and orange rind build through the harmonious and persistent finish. Excellent.” Neal Martin, Vinous 90-92 Points JM 89-92
Chardonnay from Meursault, Côte du Beaune
A ripe and naturally exotic nose features notes of Asian-style tea, anise, white peach and a whiff of fennel. The relatively generously proportioned medium weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the very dry and youthfully austere finish that also possesses a touch of bitter citrus character. Lovely juice and this is really quite classy. 2028+ (from an incredible 2.7 ha holding which makes Bouchard the largest owner).Allen Meadows, Burghound 91-93 Points
Riesling from Mosel, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
Partially botrytised grapes from different sectors of the vineyard. A stunningly refined, complex and delicately smoky nose of yellow peach, yellow flowers, minty herbs, Conference pear, anise and spices. Unleashes a magnificently smooth and almost unctuous sidee, yet gains in structure, focus and presence as it develops into an energetic and multi-layered finish. The aftertaste shines through its sublime fruit-zest tension. This rich noble-sweet riesling is a stunning expression of auslese i
Chardonnay from Saint-Aubin, Côte du Beaune
The 2023 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots unwinds in the glass with a gently reductive bouquet of sweet citrus fruit, flowers and peach, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and racy palate, concluding with a bright, saline finish. This site was hit by hail, but you wouldn't know it.William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 89-91 PointsFrom a south-west facing vineyard planted in 1994 located just above La Chateniere. This site catches a little more wind. This is also quite aromat
Sauvignon Blanc from Pouilly-Fumé, Centre Loire
These sites produce the most direct, accessible expression of Pouilly-Fumé. Under Louis-Benjamin's guidance, its quality has improved dramatically, now rivalling his other wines. Layered and already open, the 2023 offers enormous complexity and pleasure for a young Dagueneau. Of course, it will only get better after 3 to 10 years in bottle. The first bottle of Didier's wines I devoured was a bottle of Silex in 2001 with Doc when I was working with him at Yarra Yering. We were looking to
Grüner Vetliner from Wachau, Niederösterreich
"The 2015 Riesling Baumpresse was pressed in the historic press operated by a single oak beam. It was bottled in 2020 and released in spring 2023. Waxiness hits the nost first, followed by dried lemon peel and zest. The palate is super-smooth, with evolution that presents an intense waxiness, almost an oiliness, propelled by lemony intensity. Glints of ripe apricot shimmer, but the palate returns to its golden mean of dried lemon peel. The contrast between rich flavour and slender palate is min
Riesling from Mosel, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The 2024 Riesling Wehlener Sonnenuhr Auslese Goldkapsel is alive with citrus foliage, zest and the sweetest fruit aromas. Its tanginess tingles on the nose and continues right on the palate. Vivid freshness and poise define pale white peach flesh on the palate, tempered by a gorgeous, tangy orange peel note that attains a subtle edge of candy. The 2024 is superbly fine, stony, linear and, of course, delicious. It is so poised and clean. Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous 97 Points
Riesling from Mosel, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The 2022er Bernkasteler Lay Riesling Auslese GK was made from shriveled rather than botrytized fruit and was fermented down to noble-sweet levels of residual sugar. It offers a beautifully restrained and almost non-saying nose at first, yet quickly shows superbly complex and captivating notes of fine exotic elements (mango, guava, passion fruit), smoke, whipped almond cream, yellow flowers, orange blossom, acacia, and cassis. The wine proves superbly refined and elegant on the layered and compar
Chardonnay from Meursault, Côte du Beaune
From Les Casse-Têtes and Meursault Les Murgers de Monthelie. “This is aromatically similar to the Clousots but with more floral elements. There is even better volume and mid-palate density to the muscular medium weight flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the overtly powerful finish where a hint of bitter lemon arises. This is a very serious Meursault villages that should amply repay up to a decade of cellaring. This too is recommended. ♥ 2026+Burghound
