Bordeaux Blend from Hawke's Bay, North Island

Te Mata Estate Coleraine MAGNUM 2021

Perfumed Refined Goodness! A single vineyard wine until 1989, Coleraine is an blend of the finest wines produced from distinct plots within Te Mata Estate’s oldest Havelock Hills vineyards, first planted in 1892. Always a cabernet sauvignon dominant wine, often with merlot and cabernet franc, Coleraine is refined and classical, demonstrating the immense potential for Bordeaux blends in Hawke’s Bay. In fact, it looks mroe Bordelais than most Aussie Cabernet.Very powerful in its youth, t

Nebbiolo from Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo

Domenico Clerico Barolo ‘Aeroplanservaj’ 2021

The Clerico Barolo 'Aeroplanservaj' sees us moving to the Teodore MGA in the Commune of Serralunga. A beautiful perfume, red fruits and vibrant energy. Excellent fruit profile building to show an exceptional mid-palate with faded flowers, tea leaves and blood orange at play. Tannins are bold and firm, grape first and pure. With patience, they will yield something quite beautiful.Paul Kaan, Wine DecodedThe Domenico Clerico 2021 Barolo Aeroplan Servaj is a powerful expression of Nebbio

Oddero Barolo 'Rocche di Castiglione' 2019
Rare as Hens' teeth!

Nebbiolo from Castiglione Falletto, Barolo

Oddero Barolo ‘Rocche di Castiglione’ 2019

Rocche di Castiglione has to be one of my favourite Crus. The wines have incredible harmony, they are just so complete. Given Oddero's consistency through their range I'd say you're in for very safe bet here! The 2019 Barolo opens to a lean appearance with a very vibrant Nebbiolo color that shines with dark ruby highlights. There is dried cherry and candied fruit aromas on the bouquet. Those fruit layers cede to light spice, lilac and campfire ash. The beauty in With fruit from Castiglio

Stéphane Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru ‘Les Sentiers’ 2022
Beautiful Perfume & Earthy Mystique

Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny, Côte-de-Nuits

Stéphane Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru ‘Les Sentiers’ 2022

There's a great purity & vibrancy to Magnien's wines. His Sentiers is classic Chambolle! A slightly more elegant and more floral-suffused nose displays notes of violet, lavender and plum liqueur. There is fine mid-palate density to the suave and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that coat the palate with sappy dry extract before terminating in a bitter pit fruit and nicely balanced finale. This is also quite good with an understated delivery. Drink: 2030+Allen Meadows, Burghound 90

Nebbiolo from Barbaresco, Piedmont

Vietti Barbaresco ‘Masseria Roncaglie’ 2021

Serious gear. The depth and length here is insane. An important Barbaresco with mineral, slatey, tannin structure that flows and cleanses. Serious quality of tannin here. Dark and brooding. Yet the generosity is immediate, a prettiness and sophistication with power. Wonderful delicacy & harmony. Incredibly complex. Incredible persistence. Paul Kaan, WINE DECODED Sept 2025The 2021 Barbaresco Roncaglie is a powerful, tightly wound wine. Blood orange, mint, cinnamon and white peppe

Shiraz/Syrah from Cornas, Northern Rhône

Auguste Clape Cornas 2017

It's a hat trick for Clape with 2015, 2016 and 2017 all stunning vintages! Clape’s masterpiece is, of course, the classic Cornas, precisely blended from five to six cuvées of the oldest vines in the best sites. The backbone comes from Reynard, La Côte and Sabarotte. The old vines here are la Petite Syrah—the old clone considered by many to be the true Syrah—which creates a stunningly deep and complex wine that will develop for decades.

Cavallotto Barolo Riserva ‘Vignolo’ 2013

Cavallotto's Riserva 'Vignolo' is such a delicious wine, poised, fragrant, such incredible layers of flavour & the rare seamless harmony only the greats seem to manage. Cavallotto are making beautiful wines of great presence, harmony and detail. The Riserva Vignolo is always a little bolder than the Riserva Vigna San Guiseppe. They both have that hallmark Castiglione tannin layered, supple and of line and length. Underbrush, tilled soil, blue flower, pipe tobacco and wild berry aromas mingle to

Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte-de-Nuits

Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Gevrey Chambertin ‘Cuvée 1859’ 2019

The Derée Champérier vineyard was purchased by the Trapet family in 1859. After 160 uninterrupted years of farming this terroir, current generation Pierre & Louis wanted to make a cuvée as an hommage to the many generations of Trapet vignerons that have come before them. Thanks to its purity and terroir-transparency, they felt the 2019 vintage was the perfect moment to produce the Cuvee 1859.

Pinot Noir from Volnay, Côte du Beaune

Domaine Louis Boillot Pommard 1er Cru ‘Croix Noires’ 2022

“This is perhaps even cooler and more restrained with its layered array of various dark berries, plum, freshly turned earth and a whiff of violet. The mid-palate mouthfeel of the middleweight plus flavors is quite refined yet this contrasts substantially with the moderately rustic, dusty, austere and serious finale. This very powerful and compact effort is expressly built-to-age and is one that is definitely going to need it, indeed I would be surprised if it is approachable before 10 years ha
