LIMIT 1

Domaine SC Guillard Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Les Corbeaux 2023

Pinot Noir | Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy

‘Les Corbeaux’ is bordered one side by the Grand Cru Mazis Chambertin! Takes me to a very happy place! Red fruits florals detailed and fine clofoutis and spicy earthy deep fruit, there is some finely detailed florals and red fruits flowing into darker fruits, very classy.Super silky and mouth filling rounded tannins and length of fruit fine and impeccable balance and length, this will be very long lived and as a 1er cru the detail and finesse of the wine shines through.Drink 2035-204

Guímaro’s wines draw you in. At this level, they move well beyond and above the playful, juby, joven styles. Complex, savoury, layered with sophisticated tannins all of Guímaro's top wines show a deft hand in élévage to elicit the personality of the fruit from which they are made.I had the chance to compare the 2020 Finca Pombeiras with the 2019, just like I did with the other three single-vineyard bottlings. This is from a plot planted with the classical field blend found in the

Domaine des Roches Neuves Samur 'Clos Romans' 2018
Bone Dry!

Domaine des Roches Neuves Samur ‘Clos Romans’ 2018

Chenin Blanc | Saumur, D'Anjou-Saumur

Chenin. Take the syrup from poached quince and mix it with Créme pâtissière. Entrancing. Lovely, feel like I’m cooking quince. Long fine, excellent acid, draws you in, alive with personality. Bone dry! Phenolics here are interesting, dusty rather than oily. They have a wonderful cleansing feel. Savory with a little oxidative character just enough to add intrigue. Fun. Very good.

Terroir al Límit Terra Pedra de Guix 2021

White Blend | Spain, Catalunya

Huber's 1er Cru level white steps up to the plate. One of the most fascinating whites I've seen in ages! Vi de Coster, the equivalent of 1er Cru wine. As we have said before, this is one of the most mineral, sculpted whites we know—it tastes as if the wine was tapped directly from pure rock—which of course it was. Forget about how rare white Priorat is, Pedra de Guix gives the great whites of the world a run for their money. This is a blend of three varieties from three villages: Poboleda

Terroir al Límit Dits del Terra 2021

Cariñena | Spain, Catalunya

Huber's warmer, bolder version of his 1er Cru equivalent Cariñena or Carignan perfumed, spicey & savoury! The Dits del Terra can be thought of as Arbossar’s south-facing sibling. It is also 100% Cariñena, from three schist-rich sites where the vines are more than 80 years old. Dits del Terra was one of the first vineyards that Huber and his then partner, Eben Sadie, acquired when they started making wine together in the Priorat. The south-facing terroir brings more flesh and power, yet also

E. Pira (Chiara Boschis) Barolo ‘Via Nuova’ 2018

Nebbiolo | Serralunga d'Alba, Italy

This one's an argument for blending sites! The 2017 Barolo Via Nuova is a blend of seven plots from Barolo, Monforte & Serralunga! This one’s an argument for blending sites! The 2018 Barolo Via Nuova is an organic blend of fruit from six MGA sites: Terlo and Liste (in Barolo), Ravera di Monforte and Mosconi (in Monforte d’Alba) and Gabutti and Baudana (in Serralunga d’Alba).2018 is restrained in feel, but all the elements are so well balanced. Freshly cut flowers, mint, crushed ro

Plush, silky, laced with the finest dusting of grip. Expressive out of the gate. Dark, savoury with a maraschino cherry. Layered with delicate spice and earth. The aroma and flavour profile giving you a sense of the adjacent village of Gevrey-Chambertin. Flowing, and beautifully weighted, long and delicious. A fine example of Fixin.

"A brooding and reluctant nose is comprised by notes of fresh dark berries, especially black raspberry, along with touch of forest floor, earth and leather. The rich, concentrated and powerful big-bodied flavors coat the palate before culminating in a youthfully austere, serious and built-to-age finale. This needs to develop better depth but everything appears to be in place for that to occur." Drink: 2031+ Outstanding ♥Burghound

Giovanni Sordo Barolo ‘Villero’ 2019

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barolo

Superb! An excellent Villero. Complete, pure, elegant, refined, such harmony in its youth bodes well for a little something special with the passage of time. The first time I had Sordo’s Villero was the 2015 and it blew my mind. 2013, 2016, 2017 followed. All superb. The 2019 is right up there. Seriously good.Right now across all the 2019's the acid sits marginally proud. For wines of this calibre I'm stoked to see the balance where it’s at in their youth. In just a few years it will r
