I had the pleasure of devouring the 2016 about 18 months ago over an aged scotch fillet with a friend. A wine of presence and importance. Along with the other Priorats I've had from Àlvaro it's clear he's got it right in both the vineyard and the winery. Mas Martinet Els Escurcons Garnatxa 2019 Dark and brooding. Again excellent. Opens wonderfully with power and restraint. Very sophisticated. The play of the two varieties is excellent. Energy from grenache and dark, brooding mystery from carignan. Red fruit with earth, savoury with baking spices and quence. Superb texture. Again the elevage is bang on. Class act!

Fresh energetic, fragrant fruit. The blend plays well giving a long even palate. Excellent slatey long fine tannins. That play between red and blue fruit with, savoury, earthy layers and a little subtle oak playing at the edges.. A beautfiul perfume with exceptional acid that marries the fruit and tannins perfectly.
