There is so much overpriced Kiwi (and Aussie) Sauvignon Blanc on the market. The Frog’s have got one up on us with this one. My strike rate for Savvy B that I’d drink is probably the lowest of any variety. This one, well it’s good. Everything’s in the right place. Don’t take it too seriously, just enjoy!

Chardonnay from Meursault, Côte du Beaune
Stepping up from the Bourgogne level wines in a big way. Building tension length and depth. Again excellent composure, tighter now as it should be. Give this 12 months and you’ll be in a very happy place. Entrancing nice white flowers on grapefruit. A little more energy. Excellent texture, chalky phenolic acid complex that works brilliantly. An edge of grapefruit esque bitterness. A wonderful fine example. The mid-palate depth is the thing that demonstrates the step up in quality here.
Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Touraine
77 g/L. This sports a flamboyant edge, with apple crumble, ginger cream, quince paste, green tea and honeysuckle notes forming a wide panoply of aromas and flavors, while sweet and racy accents contrast, creating a lengthy finish where everything hangs in harmony. The 2017er Wehlener Sonnenuhr BA was harvested at a full 150° Oechsle. The wine proves still rather restrained yet already more than hints at gorgeous TBA-like notes of honey, raisin, baked spices, apple jelly, orange zest, toffee, and nut paste come through.
