A delicate lick of oak with a hint of mocha is quickly usurped by fresh red and darker fruits, a little liquorice, and a background layer of plum pudding with spices and candied citrus rind. A savoury cured meat / light reduction adding complexity. Superfine, flowing, and soft texture with excellent mid-palate weight and length. Blossoming in the glass. Another classic from Pat! Pinot Noir from Derwent Valley, Tasmania
Superb expression right out of the gate, whilst it will offer much much more with time. Excellent depth and length with layer after layer of flavour. The energy of the fruit is balanced with a darkness, spiced and an intriguing sappy hint. The acidity and tannin marry well offering up a fine long structure.
Grenache from McLaren Vale, South Australia
Fascinating set of three wines. The Trenerry is the most perfumed roses, a little menthol, on red fruits, rhubarb and a little orange citrus. Fine, delicate and Pinotesque. Herbal stalk spice with a little grip from stalk tannin. Playful and fun. Fruit builds depth and length in the glass. A freshness, lively acidity and perfume. It will be fascinating to see how this resolves and builds in the bottle over the coming years.

This is a very fine Kostas Rind, coming from the volcanic soils over clay on the lower Bindi Chardonnay plantings from 1988. Destemmed berries go into the press and the juice is taken straight from the tray into the barrels, around 25% of which are new small French oak. The fermentation occurs without yeast addition and the wine remains on all lees for ten months until just prior to bottling. The Dixon comes from part of the original 1988 planting of Pinot Noir at Bindi and some of the 2001 Kaye vineyard.
