Shallow, thigh deep, open granite tanks used for fermenting Port wines. After the fruit is placed in the lagare it is foot stomped in a process called the corte, the cut. This gently extracts all colour, tannin and flavour from the grapes.

Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée, Côte-de-Nuits

Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru ‘Aux Malconsorts-Christiane’ 2019

"This is also quite firmly reduced and revealing nothing at present. On the palate though the slightly bigger flavors possess only a bit more volume but notably more power and particularly so on the even longer though not necessarily more complex finale. This is very classy juice with that sense of poise that all great wines seem to have. Very promising. Drink: 2036+ Don't miss! Outstanding ♥"Allen Meadows, Burghound

Ponsot’s modus of late picking always seemed to heighten this Gevrey villages primordial persona, and it’s good to note the leopard has not changed its spots. Ponsot’s sources in 2016 include purchased grapes (vinified by Laurent), and he has also bought a couple of barrels to augment the cuvée in this vintage. Regardless, Laurent has again fashioned an outstandingly

Red Blend from Haro, La Rioja

Roda ‘I’ Blue Note Tempranillo Riserva 2009

If 2008 felt cool and Atlantic, the 2009 Roda I could be described as Mediterranean, from a warm and healthy vintage. Here they aim for black fruit character while the regular Roda should show red fruit. The grapes are sourced from over 30-year-old vines and is mostly Tempranillo with some 5% Graciano. It matured in first and second use French oak barrels for 16 months. It's a warm vintage, without reaching the heights of 2011, but there was some stress in the peak of the summer, which in some w
