Only the 2nd release of the Loosen Barry Slate Hill Riesling. It's the perfect introduction to the collaboration. Patience, with two years on lees in tank develop the wine giving it complexity and mouthfeel. The exceptional natural acidity is tamed by a few grams of residual sugar that go completely unnoticed. This is the Aussie half of the collaboration making Australian Riesling in the German way.Sam called 2023 a 1:20 year. A cool year with significant diurnal shift allowing for a longer hang time. The year had a solid crop, remembering that a big crop is at most 4t/a, not at all excessive, yet, allowing for the longer hang time.
