Chardonnay from Mâcon, Burgundy
Let this warm a little in the glass and watch it blossom! There is a background hint of matchstick character on the cool, airy and elegant nose of mostly green apple, citrus and floral nuances. The super-sleek and chiseled flavors aren't as dense but they're clearly finer with a texture that is akin to rolling a small pebble around the mouth on the balanced, long and very dry finale. Chardonnay from Viré-Clessé, Mâcon
If you like your Chardonnay mega elegant grab this over the Milly-Lamartine! As is usually the case, there is a suggestion of the exotic suffusing the aromas of petrol, tea, passion fruit and citrus confit. Here too the medium weight flavors possess a really lovely texture while displaying excellent length on the balanced, punchy and sneaky long finish.
