Nebbiolo from Castiglione Falletto, Barolo
Serious Langhe playing at Barolo level. Poured blind I'd more than likely say it was at Barolo level. Excellent acid wonderful core of fruit, flowing with excellent shape. A vibrancy and energy with fruit weight toward La Morra sources. Outstanding aroma and flavour profile. Layered and complex earthy and truffled. Open and approachable. A serious wine & a wonderful expression of Nebbiolo. The textural elements in the Oddero wines just keep getting better and better year after year.
Nebbiolo from Treiso, Barbaresco
Elegant, fine, grape first and just delicious. Settling and opening in the glass. Sitting in a sweet spot. Beautifully refined texture. Long, even and slatey in a good way. Serious wine at the price point. Vibrant acidity, salty and a little bloody, with a gently tarry, alpine note. Excellent shape flow and persistence. Harmony. Give this a few years and you’ll go to a happy place. Licks of spice, background orange citrus hum. Bright red fruits. Great to see a Barbaresco Classico from the Odde
Nebbiolo from Treiso, Barbaresco
Yet another superb 2021 Barbaresco. Clarity, purity & persistence. Sitting at 14%, the vitality of the 2021 Rombone is clear. A thread of acid sits in synergy with fine, long, grape-first chalky tannins. On the redder side of the fruit spectrum, showing the touch of skilled hands, particularly during time on skins as the mouthfeel caresses. It has much going on with a perfume balanced by an earthiness wrapping the core of fruit. A triumph!Paul Kaan, Wine Decoded Oct 2024

The vibrant palate is elegant and youthfully austere - a great characteristic for a wine

With Luciano in the vineyards, Francesco and Dante in both vineyard and winery some sort of crazy wine magic is happening! The dream team has been at it again! The Figli Luigi Oddero 2018 Barbaresco Rombone opens to tart cherry fruit and plum, with some sweet earthy tones or tobacco at the back. The wine feels rich and well concentrated to the palate, with a touch of extra ripeness that comes as a surprise for a vintage that was relatively cool and cloudy overall. If you love the bright prima

On most recent devouring, Oct 2022, the 2016 Barolo is starting to reveal itself. On release it was clearly something special, now a couple of years on it is a seamless wonder, flow and harmony. Straight from the cellars from one of Barolo's great years! Although not a Cru in its own right, Rocche Rivera is recognised as a position within the Scarrone Cru of great importance. Rocche Rivera has dizzying slopes to say the least, in the same vein as the adjacent Rocche di Castiglione, and generally shows an extra touch of perfumed elegance.I haven't had the chance to try one of these yet, looking at the only vintage chart I have ever seen worth consideration, by Giuseppe Vajra, 2010 is
