Pinot Noir from Nuits-Saint-Georges, Côte-de-Nuits
Ripe aromas of plum, black cherry and earth enjoy a floral top note accompanied by a hint of the sauvage. There is excellent volume to the suave and seductive yet sleek medium-bodied flavors that possess a caressing texture, all wrapped in a finer but equally structured finish. Good if not truly distinguished quality here. Drink: 2026+Allen Meadows, Burghound
Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte-de-Nuits
This is openly floral with its pretty and relatively high-toned nose of fresh red currant, pomegranate and herbal tea aromas that are trimmed in a hint of the sauvage. The lively and sleekly textured middle weight flavors exude a subtle bead of minerality on the well-delineated yet supple finish that is supported by dusty tannins on the slightly warm finale. This is a very good Gevrey villages that isn't quite so structured but one that will still need at least a modicum of patience. Drink: 2027
Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny, Côte-de-Nuits
Initially there is a touch of reduction though aggressive swirling slowly reveals overtly floral-suffused nose that is comprised mostly by attractively spicy red and dark berries aromas. There is excellent volume to the rich but appealingly delineated medium-bodied flavors that also exude a subtle minerality on the mildly austere, firm and sneaky long finish. A sophisticated Chambolle villages. Drink: 2026+Allen Meadows, Burghound
Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny, Côte-de-Nuits
It is next to the Premier Cru "les Borniques" to the east and to the south, about fifty meters from the Grand Cru "le Musigny". Situated on reddish brown clays rich in iron oxides on about 30 cm then we find very quickly the limestones of Chambolle Musigny. Its north-east exposure and the influence of the combe mixed with its limestone soil gives a great freshness to this chambolle. The global warming in our vineyards of these last vintages are very well suited to this colder terroir of or
Pinot Noir from Nuits-Saint-Georges, Côte-de-Nuits
There is enough reduction to suppress the underlying fruit though there is by contrast very good freshness and tension to the sleek, detailed and tautly muscular flavors that also conclude in a decidedly austere, compact and mildly warm finish. This powerful and vaguely rustic effort will also require ample patience to arrive at its full maturity.. Drink: 2036+ Outstanding ♥Allen Meadows, Burghound 91-93 NM 93-95
Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée, Côte-de-Nuits
Here too the nose is overtly floral in character though relative to the Les St. Georges the dark berry fruit aromas are much more exotic and spicier. The sleekly muscular, intense and broad-shouldered flavors possess outstanding mid-palate density and power before culminating in a robust, firmly structured and wonderfully complex finale where the only reproach is a touch of warmth. This is a rich and classically styled Richebourg that is very definitely built-to-age as it should be. Drink: 2036+
