David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges 2018

Pinot Noir | Nuits-Saint-Georges, France

‘(from La Charmotte, Aux Saints-Juliens and Les Plateaux). A pungent nose is comprised at present by notes of reduction and wood toast. Otherwise there is excellent volume and mid-palate density to the powerful and muscular medium-bodied flavors that deliver outstanding depth and persistence on the robust and rustic finale. This outstanding if quite serious villages level wine is very Nuits in basic character. Drink 2028+.’ Burghound.com January 2020.

David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges 2019

Pinot Noir | Nuits-Saint-Georges, France

"A relatively airy and cool nose freely offers up notes of various red berries, earth and a floral top note. The sleek and relatively refined middle weight flavors contrast somewhat with the youthfully austere and mildly rustic finale that exhibits slightly better depth and persistence on the more structured finale. This is quite a good Nuits villages and worth a look. ♥" Allen Meadows, Burghound

David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges 2020

Pinot Noir | Nuits-Saint-Georges, France

(from La Charmotte, Aux Saints-Juliens, Brûlées and Les Plateaux). Once again there is a highly appealing freshness to the somewhat earthier aromas that also blend floral and spice nuances into wild red and dark berry scents. The rich, full-bodied and powerful larger-scaled flavors possess impressive mid-palate concentration while displaying good verve on the moderately rustic, complex and beautifully long finish. This is terrific for its level. 2028+” Allen Meadows, Burghound ♥ Outsta

David Duband Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru ‘Clos Sorbé’ 2018

Pinot Noir | Morey-Saint-Denis, France

‘A fresh, cool and more elegant array is comprised by notes of both red and dark pinot fruit along with background floral and earth suggestions. The succulent, round and delicious middle weight flavors are finer if less powerful, all wrapped in a lingering finish that progressively tightens up as it sits on the palate to the point that it becomes quite compact. This will definitely need a few years to unwind. Drink 2028+.’ Burghound.com January 2020.

David Duband Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru ‘Clos Sorbé’ 2019

Pinot Noir | Morey-Saint-Denis, France

"A more floral suffused nose speaks of spiced aromas of red currant, cherry, violet and lavender. The fleshy, round and nicely refined flavors possess good delineation on the bitter cherry pit-inflected finish that offers just a bit more overall depth and persistence. Note that this will need at least a few years of cellaring first." Allen Meadows, Burghound

David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru ‘Les Proces’ 2019

Pinot Noir | Nuits-Saint-Georges, France

"Aromatically this too is markedly floral in character with its discreetly spiced nose of high-toned red currant, pomegranate and soft earth influence. There is both good vibrancy and detail to the round and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that possess fine length on the balanced finish if not quite the same lovely complexity. This mildly austere effort should age well over the medium to even longer-term. Drink 2030+." Allen Meadows, Burghound

David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru ‘Aux Thorey’ 2019

Pinot Noir | Nuits-Saint-Georges, France

"A distinctly cool nose is also quite spicy with its array of red currant, cherry and plum. The nicely textured and relatively sophisticated medium weight flavors exude a subtle minerality on the balanced, focused and impressively persistent finish that, like the Clos Sorbé, has a bitter cherry pit character. This is pretty much textbook Aux Thorey. ♥" Allen Meadows, Burghound

David Duband Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru ‘Clos Sorbé’ 2020

Pinot Noir | Morey-Saint-Denis, France

"A softly perfumed and pretty red berry fruit nose is also trimmed in just enough oak influence to merit pointing out. The round, fleshy and solidly voluminous middle weight flavors possess a refined mid-palate texture that carries over to the youthfully austere and highly persistent finale. This lovely effort needs to develop better depth, but more should develop if it's allowed at least a few years to mellow in a cool cellar." Allen Meadows, Burghound ♥ Outstanding

David Duband Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru ‘Aux Thorey’ 2020

Pinot Noir | Nuits-Saint-Georges, France

"A more restrained but equally pretty nose displays a broad range of floral nuances along with pretty spice nuances on the red and dark currant scents. The sleek and nicely elegant medium-bodied flavors possess a really lovely mouthfeel as well as excellent length on the compact, youthfully austere and balanced finale. Note that this is sufficiently structured to require at least a few years of cellaring before it will be approachable." 2032+ Allen Meadows, Burghound ♥ Outstanding

A perfumed and strikingly pretty nose is at once wonderfully floral and spicy with its fresh essence of red pinot fruit. The fleshy and round yet decidedly powerful, intense and tautly muscular flavors exude a subtle minerality on the compact, youthfully austere and sneaky long finish. 2032" Allen Meadows, Burghound ♥ Outstanding

"An even cooler and more high-toned nose offers up a plethora of red berry scents that include hints of pungent earth, floral wisps and discreet but not invisible wood. There is fine richness to the solidly concentrated flavors that evidence plenty of minerality though the tangy, warm and somewhat woody finish is somewhat awkward today. Note that my projected range assumes that this eventually harmonizes." Allen Meadows, Burghound
"This too is aromatically very cool with its elegant and airy aromas of violet, red and dark currant and whiffs of humus and the sauvage. There is impressive vibrancy to the caressing yet muscular and intense larger-scaled flavors that exude an abundance of minerality on the serious, compact and focused finale that also flashes just a hint of warmth. Note well that this is very much a 'buy and forget you own it' wine." Allen Meadows, Burghound
