Riesling from Mosel, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
"Dry Wine of the Vintage!" Jean Fisch & David Rayer, Mosel Fine Wines AP: 17 21. The 2020er Marienburg Fahrlay GG, as it is referred to on the main part of the label, was fermented spontaneously in traditional oak casks from fruit harvested in a blue slate part of the Marienburg vineyard. It offers a superb nose made of lemon zest, white flowers, raspberry, fine spices, and herbs. The wine is beautifully precise and playful on the nicely dry palate and leaves a superb feel of fresh fruits and su
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy
A slightly cooler if still ripe nose reflects notes of white pepper, plenty of citrus influence and discreet shellfish nuances. Here too the palate impression of the middleweight flavors is one of richness and generosity yet the supporting acidity is both a little firmer and a bit brighter as well. This delicious effort could use better depth but more should reasonably develop with a few years of aging. Allen Meadows, Burghound 90-92 Points
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy
A slightly riper if still agreeably fresh nose freely offer up its array of white and yellow orchard fruit, citrus rind, apple and tidal pool hints. The palate impression of the medium weight flavors possesses more volume still with a lovely sense of richness and minerality that adds a sense of lift to the very dry but not really austere finale. A few years of cellaring should see this drinking well. Allen Meadows, Burghound 89-92 Points
Red Blend from Valpolicella, Veneto
Corvina , Corvinone and Cabernet , dark, meaty and ripe on the nose with cassis and earth tones . The palate is fresh with forrest berries and red plums . wonderful complete wine already .50% Corvina and Corvinone, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy
The 2023 Chablis 1er Cru Vaillons bursts with aromas of white flowers and peach, followed by a medium to full-bodied, satiny and suave palate that's pure, seamless and charming.William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 91 PointsA discreet application of wood sets off notes of white pepper, acacia blossom, spice and just enough Chablis typicity to be interesting. On the palate there is again both good volume and refinement to the generously proportioned middle weight flavors that possess a sa
Chardonnay from Chablis, Burgundy
A more elegant and slightly cooler nose freely reveals its aromas of shellfish, white flower and mineral reduction. The sleeker and more intense medium-bodied flavors flash evident minerality on the nicely punchy finish where a touch of lemon zest-tinged acidity helps keep the proper balance. This does though need better depth so a few years of keeping are recommended. Allen Meadows, Burghound 88-91 Points
Riesling from Mosel, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer
The Marienburg GG Fahrlay 2023, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, was fermented spontaneously in traditional oak casks from fruit harvested in a blue slate part of the Marienburg vineyard. Still slightly reductive at first, it quickly shows a refreshing and pure nose of citrusy fruits, minty herbs, aniseed, almond, vineyard peach, and jasmine. The wine is pure and vibrating, as energetic and taut notes of citrusy fruits run through the palate. The finish is beautifully fr
White Blend from Gaiole UGA, Chianti Classico
Production of this wine is a painstaking labor of love. If they made a white out of the grapes it would return 10 times the volume! Makes the price look pretty reasonable. The organic San Giusto a Rentennano 2015 Vin San Giusto (in a 375-milliliter bottle) opens to a dark chestnut color with brownish and copper highlights. This wine is viscous and quite thick with a contained 9.5% alcohol content. That low alcohol is a hallmark of this special dessert wine, as is its super rich, almost sy
Riesling from Kremstal, Niederösterreich
"The 2019 Riesling vom Stein Smaragd smells of fresh Mirabelle, ripe Amalfi lemon and a touch of chervil on a yeasty, smooth nose. The palate presents all this in one smooth, cooling flow, with notions of lemon becoming ever more prominent and apricot making a charming, perfumed appearance. Riesling's exuberance has been tamed into soothing mildness here. Full marks for charm and exquisite purity of fruit. Bone dry." Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous 94 PointsNikolaihof’s Smaragd level th
Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Touraine
77 g/L. This sports a flamboyant edge, with apple crumble, ginger cream, quince paste, green tea and honeysuckle notes forming a wide panoply of aromas and flavors, while sweet and racy accents contrast, creating a lengthy finish where everything hangs in harmony. A stunning show of fruit and precision.James Molesworth, Wine Spectator 97 Points

Production of this wine is a painstaking labor of love. If they made a white out of the grapes it would return 10 times the volume! Makes the price look pretty reasonable. The organic San Giusto a Rentennano 2016 Vin San Giusto (in a 375-milliliter bottle) is a viscous and glycerin-rich dessert wine with dried fruit, chewy caramel, white raisin and a hint of chocolate or toasted coffee bean. The wine is very rich on the palate, sitting heavy on the senses to the end. I also get a curious
Riesling from Rheinhessen, Germany
RR refers to Riesling from red soils – a half-hectare parcel within Kirchspiel that gives fruit that is a little more spicy than fruit that goes into Von der Fels. This parcel doesn't always ferment to complete dryness, as was the case in 2022, where it has also been blended with some top parcels from Abtserde and Morstein (usually destined for the GGs) that also didn't ferment totally dry. The resulting blend is just off-dry, with around 12 g/L of residual sugar, making this RR a serious exam
