Gamay Noir from Morgon, Beaujolais
Of the two Bellevue Cuvées, the Cailloux has better balance and energy with a touch less alcohol and a touch more acid. Excellent darker, earthier profile than the Chiroubles. Beautifully weighted, plump fruit with a spice layer and just a little playful stalk tannin grip keeping the palate lively and, with that fine line of acid, refreshing. Any excellent rendition and like the other 2023's more immediate approachability than previous vintages. I typically find Bouland's wines need at least 18

Dense yet fresh, elegant and fine. Graphite tannins and lovely vibrant red fruit. Sensational texture. Fine cleansing acid, long, delicious and delicately spiced. Beautiful. Juicy fruit with a much more immediate approachability than previous vintages. I typically find Bouland's wines need at least 18 months to 2 year to resolve and for their tension to relax following bottling. This will undoubtedly offer more with time in bottle.

A wonderful expression of Serralunga, all of the tea, slate, graphite, exceptional quality tannins, with a presence and sophistication. The firm mouthfeel of seriously good Serralunga tannins. Again such a complete wine. The nose draws you in. Begging you to drink. A darkness and energy that is palpable.Impressive gear. Precise, and pure, wearing the vineyard and commune on its sleeve. Superb fruit of depth and length. Great drinking here with much much more to come.

The Le Chiuse 2021 Brunello di Montalcino is a lovely wine and one of my favorites from a vintage that is not always easy to read. While Vietti's Villero is their Top Wine. This is my favorite! The 2021 Barolo Rocche di Castiglione is elegant, floral and lifted. I also find it a bit reticent in the early going. Crushed flowers, bright red-toned fruit, blood orange, white pepper and spice open with some coaxing. Much more impact at the front end of the palate with a pleasing build in grip compared to the plush Brunate. Linear, long and fine. Lovely flowers. Long, even fruit of significant depth, with a lick of leather throwing in tar/slate/licorice complexity. Opening the class to reveal more opulence. Acid tannin complex is exceptional. Cracking Brunate! A very complete wine. Tannins are so refined, even through the front and middle palate. Round chocolateyt mid-palate that tapers a little.
