The 2017 Barolo Monvigliero marries the raciness of the year with the floral lift and elegance of this great Verduno site. More than anything, the 2017 is a Barolo of pure and total sensuality. Even so, there is more than enough tannin to allow the 2017 to drink well for many years to come. It is very clearly one of the wines of the vintage. The rich, substantial finish is a thing of real beauty.Antonio Galloni, Vinous

'The 2018 Barolo Monvigliero is broad, ample and so expressive, all while showing the finesse and classicism that are such a signature of this wine. All elements are so well balanced in a Barolo that speaks to harmony above all else. Sweet red cherry, cedar, orange peel, tobacco and cinnamon give the 2018 tons of aromatic presence. Best of all, the 2018 will drink well with minimal cellaring. It's a gorgeous wine in every way.'Antonio Galloni, Vinous 95 Points

The 2019 Barolo Mosconi is the most potent of the three Barolos in the range. It exudes Monforte darkness and virile intensity from the very first taste. Black cherry, plum, mocha, sage, tar, lavender and spice infuse the 2019 with tons of character. This is one of the most elegant wines I have ever tasted from Mosconi, a site that does not naturally lend itself to finesse.Antonio Galloni, Vinous 98 Points

This possesses the most floral-suffused nose in the range with its pretty liqueur-like aromas of various red berries, soft earth and a hint of crushed anise. There is excellent volume to the caressing and seductively textured flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere, firm and compact finale. Like the Caillerets, this needs more depth so at least some patience is in order.Allen Meadows, Burghound 90-92 Points

This is the replanted portion of Vigna Rionda, stil too young to be worthy of the Barolo classification. The 2019 was awarded 98 Points by the Wine Doctor.Crafted by Davide Rosso and Andrea Delpiano from their Serralunga d’Alba estate vineyards. The purity of expression of nebbiolo is breathtaking, and while many of us will find it challenging to wait, these are wines of considerable ageing potential.

A perfumed and exceptionally pretty, elegant and pure nose speaks of wafting essence of red berries, especially cherry, along with exotic spice and floral wisps. I very much like the texture of the beautifully refined middleweight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that displays excellent length. This could use better depth but that should only be a matter of patience. 2034+ ♥ Sweet spot OutstandingAllen Meadows, Burghound  (91-94) Point

A whiff of reduction is just enough to shave the top notes from the otherwise attractive and ripe aromas of black cherry, spice and raspberry. The sleek, rich and vibrant flavors possess very good volume, indeed they are attractively succulent, all wrapped in a raspy and compact finish where a hint of wood arises.Allen Meadows, Burghound 88-90 Points The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is showing beautifully, offering up aromas of cherries, raspberries and blood orange mingled with r

From high density plantings of Cabernet and Petit Verdot. This show how good Bordeaux blends can be in Italy and just how different they are from their French counterparts! Jumping from 4,000 vines a hectare to 8-10,000. Grown as bush vines. Immediate oppulence and generosity on the nose. The structural element from the tannin are very different from the tannins of Bordeaux, edgy again in a good way.  Such complexity with a layer of macerative characters and the perfume they can offer. Giovanni Rosso Barolo ‘Cerretta’ 2016

Nebbiolo | Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo

Owned by the Rosso family since 1920, the plot was partly replanted in 1984 and 2000. Situated about 2 miles (3km) to the north of Serralunga village, Cerretta lies close to the hamlet of Baudana and envelops that of Cerretta. The fruit for this Cru wine comes from the best parcel which is shaped like an amphitheatre facing south-east. This part of the vineyard provides a particularly good micro-climate for Nebbiolo since it is protected from stronger winds by the copse at the bottom of the s

The Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ca’ del Merlot is distinctly savory in the glass, with a thrust of wild herbs that evolves into fresh picked strawberries and wet stone. This is a model of purity and balance, with brilliant acidity that propels its crisp wild berry fruits as violet inner florals collect toward the close. Further elevated by a hint of confectionary spice, it tapers off remarkably fresh and vivid, with a blueberry tinge and dusty tannins that promise a lovely evolution. This
