Gianfranco Soldera's Sangiovese is an incredible wine, you almost don't have to drink it the aroma is that good. Incredible complexity, layering, beautifully refined, perfectly developed, yet youthful. Soldera's wine have a level of precision that you rarely see. I can see why others have picked Grand Cru Burgundy as an option in blind tastings. Incredibly sophistic
Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet, Côte du Beaune
This is at once more floral and a bit riper as well with its liqueur-like nose of vaguely exotic scents, especially white peach, passion fruit, crushed fennel and jasmine tea. The mouthfeel of bigbodied yet gorgeously textured broad-shouldered flavors exude evident minerality, indeed this is akin to rolling rocks around the palate, all wrapped in a bone-dry, citrus and hugely long finish. This is an imposingly-scaled and overly powerful Chevalierthat should amply repay 10 to 15 years of keeping.

The 2022 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru is one of my favorite aromatics from Rousseau, one you instantly fall in love with - real frisson, red berry fruit laced with shucked oyster shell. The palate is very well-balanced, framed by filigree tannins. There is real tension from start to finish, as you expect from this vineyard, finishing with immense precision. The 2023 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru has a spellbinding bouquet with pure red fruit, hints of blueberry and incense. There is real mineralité here. Latricières Chambertin is an incredible site! I had Faiveley's 2015 Latricières Chambertin recently, delicious, perfumed elegant and refined. A more expressive nose freely offers up exceptionally pretty aromas that include the exuberantly spicy essence of various red berries, sandalwood and an interesting hint of orange pekoe tea. The richer but not as tightly wound medium weight flavors possess a borderline creamy mid-palate while the hugely long finish is youthfully austere but impeccably well-balanced.
