Where the Bourgogne is immediately approachable the village Chassagne Blanc needs a little more time. The 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc opens in the glass with aromas of pear, hazelnut and nutmeg, followed by a medium-bodied, ample and lively palate that's quite generous and fruit-driven this year, though I suspect it will tighten up with a second winter on the lees. 1/3 from Les Masures next to Morgeot 2/3 Puligny side of Chassagne. William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 89-91 Points

'The 2018 Barolo Monvigliero is broad, ample and so expressive, all while showing the finesse and classicism that are such a signature of this wine. All elements are so well balanced in a Barolo that speaks to harmony above all else. Sweet red cherry, cedar, orange peel, tobacco and cinnamon give the 2018 tons of aromatic presence. Best of all, the 2018 will drink well with minimal cellaring. It's a gorgeous wine in every way.'Antonio Galloni, Vinous 95 Points

Where the Bourgogne is immediately approachable the village Chassagne Blanc needs a little more time. 1/3 from Les Masures next to Morgeot 2/3 Puligny side of Chassagne. Again this shows a wonderful progression through the quality standards in Burgundy. Jumping a rung in the ladder, the energy and precision is showing here. Whilst a full percentage lower in alcohol than the Bourgogne, it has greater depth and length. Current tightly wound, beautiful linear acid is supported nicely by a little te

This possesses the most floral-suffused nose in the range with its pretty liqueur-like aromas of various red berries, soft earth and a hint of crushed anise. There is excellent volume to the caressing and seductively textured flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere, firm and compact finale. Like the Caillerets, this needs more depth so at least some patience is in order.Allen Meadows, Burghound 90-92 Points

This is the replanted portion of Vigna Rionda, stil too young to be worthy of the Barolo classification. The 2019 was awarded 98 Points by the Wine Doctor.Crafted by Davide Rosso and Andrea Delpiano from their Serralunga d’Alba estate vineyards. The purity of expression of nebbiolo is breathtaking, and while many of us will find it challenging to wait, these are wines of considerable ageing potential.

A perfumed and exceptionally pretty, elegant and pure nose speaks of wafting essence of red berries, especially cherry, along with exotic spice and floral wisps. I very much like the texture of the beautifully refined middleweight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that displays excellent length. This could use better depth but that should only be a matter of patience. 2034+ ♥ Sweet spot OutstandingAllen Meadows, Burghound  (91-94) Point

A whiff of reduction is just enough to shave the top notes from the otherwise attractive and ripe aromas of black cherry, spice and raspberry. The sleek, rich and vibrant flavors possess very good volume, indeed they are attractively succulent, all wrapped in a raspy and compact finish where a hint of wood arises.Allen Meadows, Burghound 88-90 Points The 2018 Chambolle-Musigny Village is showing beautifully, offering up aromas of cherries, raspberries and blood orange mingled with r

Arnaud Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Ma Cuvée 2023

Pinot Noir | Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy

A distinctly earthy nose features floral and sauvage hints on the mostly dark berry fruit aromas. The relatively refined middle weight flavors possess a silky mid-palate mouthfeel that contrasts noticeably with the mildly rustic, balanced and lingering finish that is firm enough to repay mid-term keeping.Allen Meadows, Burghound 88-90 PointsNote: from a mix of Les Epointures, the upper part of La Platière, La Justice, Champ Chenys, Les Corvées and Les CercueilsThe 2023

The Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ca’ del Merlot is distinctly savory in the glass, with a thrust of wild herbs that evolves into fresh picked strawberries and wet stone. This is a model of purity and balance, with brilliant acidity that propels its crisp wild berry fruits as violet inner florals collect toward the close. Further elevated by a hint of confectionary spice, it tapers off remarkably fresh and vivid, with a blueberry tinge and dusty tannins that promise a lovely evolution. This
