This is when knowing the fruit sources of a Bourgogne is important. Dancer's Bourgogne comes straight from two of the big guns!Sourced from two different vineyards, one in Meursault (planted in 2001) and one in Puligny-Montrachet (planted in 1990), the 2018 blend is roughly 70% Puligny and 30% Meursault. Vinified in both tank and old oak, this is villages-level quality—a wine of remarkable gravitas and complexity for its status.“Aromas of white flowers, pear, crisp green apple and

Fascinating comparison with the Pavelot Dominode 18. There’s a similarity with the fleshy generous fruit and shape to the fruit. The Tollot Beaut goes for a slightly softer mouthfeel with very silky tannins. Like many 2018’s rich mouth filling fruit is at play, a darkness underlying. I’m going to be fascinated to see the Leroux, Pavelot & Tollot-Beaut Savignys evolve over time. As this opens in the glass the air induces refinement and elegance. Delicious wine that in a blind tasting I'

Laurent Tribut Chablis 2022

Chardonnay | France, Burgundy

An agreeably fresh nose speaks of various white orchard fruit, citrus peel and a hint of oyster shell. The caressing and delicious but solidly punchy middleweight flavors possess good length on the balanced, clean and moderately dry finale. This attractive effort should drink well young as well as age over the mid-term. Drink 2026+Allen Meadows, Burghound 88-91 PointsLimit 2

Laurent Tribut Chablis 2023

Chardonnay | France, Burgundy

Ripe aromas of poached pear and apple compote are laced with hints of iodine, lemon rind and a whiff of brine. The succulent, round and sappy middle weight flavors display notably better than average persistence on the citrusy, clean and nicely dry finale. This punches above its weight and is worth a look. Drink 2028+ ♥ Outstanding Top ValueAllen Meadows, Burghound 89-91 PointsLimit 2

Fascinating tasting this with Burghound's note and next to a 2020 Guillard 'Reniard' from Gevrey-Chambertin. The villages of Savigny-lès-Beaune and Chorey-lès-Beaune tend to show the sunshine a little more compared to those both further south and north. Dark and clearly ripe, Pavelot has maintained energy and vitality. The tannins build to a crescendo along the palate balancing the richness with a fine acid. The shape and flow are generous, yet linear with that quality tannin and persistent fr

Antoniolo Gattinara Riserva DOCG 2017

Nebbiolo | Italy, Alto Piemonte

The Gattinara Riserva has an entrancing set of aromas and flavours, dark fruits, woody herbs, a little savoury and truffly with a top note perfume to round it out. Fresh yet beautifully developed, flowing with generous fruit of a weightless feel. The mouthfeel has a vitalising grip that sits beautifully with juicy, fine acid. Fantastic drinking! It feels like the 2016 with a little extra pop of energy! That my friends is the 3-peat! Antoniolo's Gattinaras from 2015, 2016 & 2017 are

Terre de l’Elu ‘Magellan’ Cabernet Franc 2020

Cabernet Franc | Loire Valley, Anjou

This is excellent. Lovely perfume super fine linear long layered tannins. Layered complex flavours of bramble, mulberry, orange skins and florals. Complete harmonious, flowing. The tannins are very impressive so sophisticated superb. Already building a feel of secondary development. Moving into the next phase of development.Charlotte and Thomas’s approach to handling Cabernet Franc is impressive. The first wine I tried from the Cigliano di Sopra was the 2021 Classico. It's a bloody tasty expression of Sangiovese. It shows a hell of a lot of comfort and clarity of thought in their winemaking from this young duo. They are at the forefront of a new wave like Carleone pushing hard to drive Chianti to new height. Think harmony, balance, grape first, fun wine. The Riserva is looking very sharp. All of the hallmarks of the Classico levelled up. Old school Chianti Classico Riservas are often ov

Domaine des Croix Beaune Rouge 2022

Pinot Noir | France, Beaune

A stunning introduction to Domaine des Croix. The first time tasting David Croix's wines for me. The Beaune village shows the energy and freshness true across the range. Expressive and composed with a sense of harmony.Red fruits with refined even tannins flowing across the palate. Slightly, slatey tannins. A lovely spice and a gentle grip from stalk use. Superb at this level, even and long. Delicious drinking.Paul Kaan, Wine Decoded“The 2022 Beaune Village has turned out nicel

“This is also cool and airy with perfumed notes of various red berries and a hint of exotic spice nuances that include jasmine and fennel. The racy and very well-detailed medium weight flavors possess an attractive mid-palate texture while delivering good length on the youthfully austere, balanced and reasonably complex finale. This should easily repay 7 to 10 years of keeping yet be approachable after only 3 to 4 years of bottle aging.” ♥ Outstanding Allen Meadows, Burghound 89-91 Points

Àlvaro Palacios ‘Gratallops’ 2021

Garnatxa | Spain, Catalunya

The 2019 of this wine was the 1st Priorat from Àlvaro Palacios I devoured, it started my mission to drink more of Àlvaro's Priorats. It my friends was excellent. So fine and long, great persistence, harmony and intrigue. Poise, balance, complexity and personality. Bright fruits with mineral acid. Slatey, earthy, savour with some darker fruits. Inredible vitality, such sublte energetic fruit.Tasting the 2021 I found myself immediately enamoured, all the hallmarks of great Priorat seen in th

Benjamin Leroux Savigny-lès-Beaune 2022

Pinot Noir | Savigny-lès-Beaune, Burgundy

The lion’s share of this release comes from the outstanding Aux Fourneaux lieu-dit in the north of the village. Leroux works with lots of Pinot Fin here (a high-quality, low-yielding Pinot Noir cultivar), giving low yields and great concentration. The fruit from these vines fermented with 15% bunches. A fully destemmed parcel of Les Conardises was also included this year. The wine, half of which was raised without sulphur, matured exclusively in large cask—half in foudre and half in 600-litr
