Chardonnay from Chassagne-Montrachet, Côte du Beaune
Offering aromas of white flowers, crisp green orchard fruit and toasted nuts, the 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru La Maltroie is medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, with tangy acids and a long, saline finish.William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 90-92 PointsHere too there is a very much suggestion of the exotic with its aromas of pear and white peach along with a much broader array of floral elements. The succulent, seductive and suave medium weight flavors flash evident power
Chardonnay from Chassagne-Montrachet, Côte du Beaune
Notes of pear, clear honey, white flowers and freshly baked bread introduce the 2023 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Abbaye de Morgeot, a medium to full-bodied, satiny and seamless wine that will offer a broad drinking window.William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 91-93 PointsSmoky aromas of various white-fleshed fruit, petrol and candied citrus give way to supple, delicious and caressing, if not especially dense, flavors that still manage to possess focused power on the agreeable dry, rusti
Pinot Noir from Pommard, Côte du Beaune
Well I couldn't find a review of this and haven't had a chance to taste it. Given the other 9 wines from 2016 and 2017 I've tried it's hard to see this being anything but true to form and simply put a 2017 version of the 2016!My Note on the 2016:Opens with juicy crunchy fruit that takes just a little while to settle in. More immediately overt than the others. There’s a build in tannin here that when you relate it back to the vineyard location near Rugien and listen to Anne Parents
Pinot Noir from Pommard, Côte du Beaune
Bottled in Magnum only, 290 bottled. This tiny monopole of the Domaine measures only 9.81 ares or the equivalent of only one-quarter of an acre; planted in 1947. This was de-stemmed, fermented in barrel, no pigeage and was not offered for tasting. Comes in its own wooden box.My note from the 2016:Opens with juicy crunchy fruit that takes just a little while to settle in. More immediately overt than the others. Pinot Noir from Volnay, Côte du Beaune
The 2020 Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets has turned out beautifully, unwinding in the glass with aromas of dark berries, licorice, rose petals, spices and forest floor. Medium to fullbodied, ample and satiny, it’s seamless and complete, with beautifully refined tannins, racy acids and a long, saline finish. Drink 2025-2050 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 94 Points
Pinot Noir from Volnay, Côte du Beaune
Aromas of wild berries, dark chocolate, sweet spices, licorice and rose petals preface the 2020 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes, a full-bodied, ample and layered wine that’s rich, powerful and gourmand, with a ripe core of fruit, powdery tannins and succulent balancing acids. It’s a compelling success, but it will reward some bottle age. Drink 2030-2050 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 94+ Points
Pinot Noir from Aloxe-Corton, Côte du Beaune
A completely different aromatic profile is proffered by the nose of intensely sauvage, smoky dark currant and plum. The delicious and tension-filled medium-bodied flavors possess good power on the serious and lingering finish that is borderline rustic. Excellent development potential here. (from .84 ha holding of ~75+ year old vines; 40% whole clusters) 2034+Allen Meadows, Burghound (92-95) Points
Chardonnay from Aloxe-Corton, Côte du Beaune
A distinctly cooler nose is comprised by notes of Granny Smith, spice, white flower and plenty of wet stone character. The rich and impressively scaled and concentrated big-bodied flavors exude an almost aggressive minerality on the clean, dry and markedly powerful finish. This beautifully long effort could use better depth but it has so much underlying material that more should almost certainly develop over time. Excellent. (from parcels of .28 ha in En Charlemagne and .22 ha in Le Charlemagne;
Pinot Noir from Pommard, Côte du Beaune
Bottled in Magnum only. From the swimming-pool block; this is one of the smallest monopole 1er Cru sites in Burgundy. Following a 5-day pre-fermentation cold maceration the primary ferment then takes place in an open oak vat which lasts for 10 days; gentle pressing; the wine is matured in 50% new barriques for 15 months. Comes in its own wooden box.“Pale colour, but beautifully elegant. Very stylish with a lovely sweetness at the back, whole bunch not in evidence because there is none

The 2022 Volnay 1er Cru Clos des Chênes has turned out beautifully, wafting from the glass with notes of cassis, rose petals and spices, followed by a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered palate with a cool core of fruit framed by sweet, powdery tannins that assert themselves on the floral finish. Especially suave and perfumed, it's reminiscent of a purer, more integrated version of Bouley's 2019. Drink 2030-2050 William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 95 Points
