Chardonnay from Puligny-Montrachet, Côte du Beaune

Domaine de Montille Bourgogne ‘Le Clos du Chateau de Pulginy-Montrachet’ Blanc 2022

A slightly riper nose combines notes of just sliced pear and apple along with background nuances of floral and zest trimmed in mildly more wood influence. The rich, delicious and beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors possess just a bit better depth and persistence on the firmer finale. This too is very good, indeed it could pass for a lower-level villages wine. 2027+ ♥ Outstanding Top valueAllen Meadows, Burghound (87-89) Points

Pinot Noir from Beaune, Côte du Beaune

Domaine de Montille Beaune 1er Cru ‘Les Perrières’ 2020

"An overtly floral and spice-suffused nose is a bit more deeply pitched with mostly notes of poached plum and black cherry liqueur. There is better vibrancy to the precise and attractively textured medium-bodied flavors that display fine length on the dusty, even chalky, and youthfully austere finish that is notably firmer. Fine quality here."Allen Meadows, Burghound 90-92 Points

Pinot Noir from Beaune, Côte du Beaune

Domaine de Montille Beaune 1er Cru ‘Les Greves’ 2022

This is aromatically more complex but also more reserved with its nose of warm earth, poached plum, violet and softly sauvage nuances. There is good power and punch, if only average density, to the muscular and lightly stony medium weight flavors that display excellent length on the more youthfully austere finale. Excellent development potential here. (from a 1.26 ha holding; 50% whole clusters) 2032+Allen Meadows, Burghound (91-94) Points

Pinot Noir from Nuits-Saint-Georges, Côte-de-Nuits

Domaine de Montille Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru ‘Aux Thorey’ 2020

"A more elegant, cooler and spicier nose reflects notes of the pretty essence of red currant, rose petal and a floral top note. The elegance continues on the palate of the nicely textured and quite punchy flavors that exude evident minerality on the sneaky long and moderately structured finish. As is usually the case, this is a Nuits 1er of refinement and even a certain finesse." Drink 2030+ Outstanding ♥Allen Meadows, Burghound 91-93 Points

Chardonnay from Meursault, Côte du Beaune

Domaine de Montille Meursault 1er Cru ‘Les Porusot’ 2022

Discreet wood influence sets off ripe and expressive aromas of petrol, acacia blossom and hazelnut. The bigger-bodied and more powerful medium weight flavors possess reasonably good mid-palate density while exhibiting a taut muscularity on the youthfully austere, firm and serious finale that also flirts with rusticity. This is classic Poruzots though one that should be approachable after only 5-ish years. Drink: 2030+ ♥ OutstandingAllen Meadows, Burghound 90-93 Points

Pinot Noir from Volnay, Côte du Beaune

Domaine de Montille Volnay 1er Cru ‘En Champans’ 2020

"Here too moderate reduction renders the nose difficult to assess. The relatively delicate and refined middle weight flavors possess no lack of punch that carries over to the youthfully austere, complex and sneaky long finish that is quite tightly wound so patience advised." Pinot Noir from Aloxe-Corton, Côte du Beaune

Domaine de Montille Grand Cru Corton ‘Clos du Roi’ 2022

A completely different aromatic profile is proffered by the nose of intensely sauvage, smoky dark currant and plum. The delicious and tension-filled medium-bodied flavors possess good power on the serious and lingering finish that is borderline rustic. Excellent development potential here. Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée, Côte-de-Nuits

Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru ‘Aux Malconsorts’ 2022

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, once again the nose is overtly floral in character with its exuberantly spicy nose of various dark berries, soy, exotic tea and sandalwood. The sleek, intense and delineated flavors are at once refined yet powerful with a taut muscularity becoming more apparent on the dusty, youthfully austere and stony finish that is compact and very serious. Patience. (from a .97 ha holding; 80% whole clusters). Drink: 2034+ ♥ Don’t miss! OutstandingAllen

Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée, Côte-de-Nuits

Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru ‘Aux Malconsorts-Christiane’ 2019

"This is also quite firmly reduced and revealing nothing at present. On the palate though the slightly bigger flavors possess only a bit more volume but notably more power and particularly so on the even longer though not necessarily more complex finale. This is very classy juice with that sense of poise that all great wines seem to have. Very promising. Drink: 2036+ Don't miss! Outstanding ♥"Allen Meadows, Burghound

Pinot Noir from Vosne-Romanée, Côte-de-Nuits

Domaine de Montille Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru ‘Aux Malconsorts-Christiane’ 2022

The expressive nose is aromatically similar to the regular cuvée if perhaps even a bit more floral. The sleek, powerful and concentrated larger-scaled flavors possess a sophisticated mouthfeel while exhibiting outstanding persistence on the overtly austere, compact and altogether serious finish. This is a ‘wow’ wine. (from a .48 ha parcel; 90% whole clusters). Drink 2034+ ♥ OutstandingAllen Meadows, Burghound 93-96 Points
