Nebbiolo from Valtellina, Sassella, Italy, Inferno, Grumello
$350
The 2016’s are just the 5th release of Riservas by Ar.Pe.Pe in the last 15 years.
We won’t get a chance to devour these again until the 2018 release followed by the 2021 release!
These wines are things of beauty!
Made from Nebbiolo grapes grown on cliff faces in Valtellina, Lombardy they are very different from the wines of Barolo & Barbaresco.
Perfumed, elegant, poised, balanced, complex. Watching the 6 Riservas unfurl in the glass will be a pleasure!
Rather than rushing through small tastes of many wines we will be enjoying half glasses over time giving us an opportunity to explore these wines as they evolve in the glass and marry divine dishes crafted by Al Dente’s chefs Davide and Andrea.

AKA I’m still working on the Vino choice!
In 1984, Arturo Pelizzatti Perego, bolstered by the experience gained in his father’s and grandfather’s firm, decided to create ARPEPE. His aim was to realize the full potential of the unique Valtellina terroir with all the pride and determination required for such an ambitious goal. To do so, Arturo started producing long-ageing Nebbiolo wines according to the rules of the oldest traditions.
The two video’s, the first in Italian with the family, and, then of the 2017 Vintage will give you a sense of the extreme environment and dedication taken to make these wines. Beyond that just try them!
Today, Isabella (winemaker), Emanuele and Guido Pelizzatti Perego continue their father’s work as the fifth generation of winemakers and growers. In just a few years, thanks to careful technological innovations and the choice of a young and passionate team, Arturo’s dream has come true: his rare wines are once again a major point of reference on the national and international wine scene.

Davide & Michelle from Al Dente have designed a delicious menu to accompany these stunning wines.

These guys have mad skills. Chefs Davide (Veneto) & Andrea (Lombardy) combine skills with the divine Michelle to bring us experiences that tantalise tastebuds and warm hearts!
This Crew of humble, passionate, beautiful people respectfully combine traditions from their birthplaces with stunning local produce.
They won’t tell you, together they have supported international visa holders over the last few years and worked to help those in need of nutritious meals.

Where in the world does the magic happen?
