Luciano Sandrone Barolo ‘Le Vigne’ 2019

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barolo (sub-region)

Bugger! The investors are onto it! An excellent Le Vigne. The restraint in oak use is clever, discrete, just a beuatiful layer. Going back to the 2013 the wood was more overt on release. Today the 2013’s are fully resolved and wonderfully layered. The 2019 is complex, refined & elegant, with vibrant fruit & faded flowerst. A delicacy with great density of fruit. Remaining refreshing. The heart shape of Novello, the faded flowers of Villero the combination of tannin profiles making f

Talenti Brunello di Montalcino 2019

Sangiovese | Tuscany, Italy

This would have to be the single best value Brunello I've tried in the last few years. I still vividly remember the first release of this wine I drank, the 2016. Straight out of the gate this is just beautiful. The harmony and complexity match a plush, fine mouthfeel of divine tannins. Generosity meets restraint in a beautiful place. Spicy mustard seed reduction adds a balancing layer of complexity. I'm still relatively new to Pecorino. The more I taste at the top end the more I f

The 2019 Pommard 1er Cru Les Rugiens has also turned out very well in bottle, wafting from the glass with aromas of plums, orange rind, peonies, exotic spices, loamy soil and cinnamon. Medium to full-bodied, layered and fleshy, it's rich and textural, with lively acids and an ample core of fruit framed by ripe, powdery tannins. It, too, is very expressive out of the gates, to the point that readers shouldn't be afraid to try one young.William Kelley, 95 PointsAnne Parent describes 'L
