Garrigue

Garigue or phrygana is a type of low, soft-leaved scrubland ecoregion and plant community in the Mediterranean forests, woodlands, and scrub biome. It is found on limestone soils in southern France and around the Mediterranean Basin, generally near the seacoast where the moderated Mediterranean climate provides annual summer drought.[1][2][3] The term has also found its way into haute cuisine, suggestive of the resinous flavours of a garigue shrubland. Nebbiolo from Monforte d'Alba, Barolo

Fratelli Alessandria Barolo ‘Gramolere’ 2021

From a vineyard site in Monforte d'Alba, the Fratelli Alessandria 2021 Barolo Gramolere (with 7,000 bottles produced) shows a little more structure and power with tightly knit fruit, dark plum, ferrous earth and licorice. This vineyard comes to family ownership via the matriarch, Flavia Manzone, who was born in this village. Polished tannins push a smooth-sailing mouthfeel. Riesling from Mosel, Mosel-Saar-Ruwer

Clemens Busch Riesling Marienburg 1er Grosses-Gewächs ‘Fahrlay’ MAGNUM 2023

The Marienburg GG Fahrlay 2023, as it is referred to on the central part of the label, was fermented spontaneously in traditional oak casks from fruit harvested in a blue slate part of the Marienburg vineyard. Still slightly reductive at first, it quickly shows a refreshing and pure nose of citrusy fruits, minty herbs, aniseed, almond, vineyard peach, and jasmine. The wine is pure and vibrating, as energetic and taut notes of citrusy fruits run through the palate. The finish is beautifully fr

Pinot Noir from Savigny-lès-Beaune, Côte du Beaune

Domaine Tollot-Beaut Savigny-Lès-Beuanes 1er Cru ‘Champs-Chevrey’ Monopole 2019

"A lightly riper and somewhat spicier nose offers up notes of plum, black raspberry and a hint of forest floor. There is better verve and intensity to the plush but focused flavors that also flash a touch of backend austerity on the equally mineral suffused finale. This is sufficiently firm to reward 10+ years of cellaring but not so tightly wound that it couldn't be approached after only 5 or so years." Drink: 2029+ Outstanding ♥Burghound

Trebbiano from Abruzzo, Italy

Tiberio Trebbiano d’Abruzzo DOP 2023

"... this is really a baby Fonte Canale, so you know this offers a ton of value for the money."Another cracking white from Tiberio. I have just 1 bottle of 2021 Fonte Canale (Tiberio's top of the wazza Trebbiano vying for the best white of Italy) for myself. Given the quality of this entry level Trebbiano, my expectation are through the roof!A superb core of fruit. The texture of this wine is fascinating, saline and chalky with cleansing grip focused on the front to mid-palate that gives
