Garrigue

Garigue or phrygana is a type of low, soft-leaved scrubland ecoregion and plant community in the Mediterranean forests, woodlands, and scrub biome. It is found on limestone soils in southern France and around the Mediterranean Basin, generally near the seacoast where the moderated Mediterranean climate provides annual summer drought.[1][2][3] The term has also found its way into haute cuisine, suggestive of the resinous flavours of a garigue shrubland. Feeling Thirsty?

“parcels in Lignorelles – vines planted by grandfather – 50-60-year-old vines. 40% barrel – a mix of sizes but nothing new, indeed about 5-year-old barrels An extra width that’s filled with extra freshness – that’s a great nose. Domaine Faiveley Puligny Montrachet 1er Cru ‘Champ Gains’ 2020

Chardonnay | Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy

Faiveley is definitely a Domaine on the Ascention The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is excellent, mingling scents of citrus oil and peach with notions of freshly baked bread, hazelnuts and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, it's satiny but tensile, with a racy spine of acidity and a long, saline finish. William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 92-94+ BH 90-92

"The 2018 Chablis Sechet 1er Cru is creamy, open-knit and wonderfully inviting. Soft contours and expressive aromatics give the wine much of its early accessibility; I imagine it will drink well with just a few years in bottle, although it should age gracefully for a number of years as well. Dried flowers, ginger and spice add attractive touches of complexity on the finish." Antonio Galloni, Vinous

Roagna Barbaresco Pajè Vecchie Viti 2016

Nebbiolo | Barbaresco, Italy

The 2015 Barbaresco Pajè Vecchie Viti captures everything that makes Nebbiolo so seductive. The 2016 Barbaresco Pajè Vecchie Viti is an exotic, totally beguiling wine laced with super-classic Nebbiolo notes of rose petal, orange peel, cinnamon and macerated cherry. Aromatic, sensual and constantly changing in the glass, the Pajè Vecchie Viti is everything Nebbiolo and Barbaresco are supposed to be. The complexity here is just unreal. Antonio Galloni, Vinous
