Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte-de-Nuits
Layers of concentrated fruit and a refined texture this is a superb effort full of personality! Very deep color. The is more new oak here to be seen of first impressions that elevate the overall complexity and class of the aromas, it is amply carried by the depth of fruit, wild strawberry, black cherry, blackberry and plum with a brooding background. The palate is suitably concentrated with ample extract and structure that has layers of fruit and texture. Very classy effort. The finish long and

‘(from La Charmotte, Aux Saints-Juliens and Les Plateaux). A pungent nose is comprised at present by notes of reduction and wood toast. Otherwise there is excellent volume and mid-palate density to the powerful and muscular medium-bodied flavors that deliver outstanding depth and persistence on the robust and rustic finale. This outstanding if quite serious villages level wine is very Nuits in basic character. Drink 2028+.’Burghound.com January 2020.
Pinot Noir from Morey-Saint-Denis, Côte-de-Nuits
There's a great purity & vibrancy to Magnien's wines. His Faconnières is superb! A fresh, bright and airy nose reflects notes of mostly red berries and newly turned earth. The supple, round and agreeably textured flavors are not especially dense but the finish is also inviting despite being dusty and youthfully austere. A few years of patience should be beneficial. Pinot Noir from Nuits-Saint-Georges, Côte-de-Nuits
"A relatively airy and cool nose freely offers up notes of various red berries, earth and a floral top note. The sleek and relatively refined middle weight flavors contrast somewhat with the youthfully austere and mildly rustic finale that exhibits slightly better depth and persistence on the more structured finale. This is quite a good Nuits villages and worth a look. ♥"Allen Meadows, Burghound

Pinot Noir from Morey-Saint-Denis, Côte-de-Nuits
Moderate reduction dominates the nose at present. There is both better complexity and mid-palate density to the still supple and delicious medium-bodied flavors that conclude in a more powerful and noticeably more structured finale. This has fine development potential and is a wine that will need at least some patience. Drink: 2030+Allen Meadows, Burghound 89-91 Points
Pinot Noir from Chambolle-Musigny, Côte-de-Nuits
Ripe, elegant and softly spicy aromas include those of various dark berries, violet, lavender and a hint of exotic tea. There is again fine volume to the caressing but punchy medium weight flavors that possess a more sophisticated texture but not necessarily better depth on the youthfully austere finale. Note that there is enough underlying material as well as supporting tannins to suggest that this should add complexity with a few years of bottle age.Allen Meadows, Burghound 89 Points ♥ O
Pinot Noir from Gevrey-Chambertin, Côte-de-Nuits
Cracking example of Gevrey-Chambertin. There’s a theme through Louis Boillot’s wines of harmony, and, delicacy with intensity. "From old vines of an indeterminate age located in 8 different lieux-dits, the largest of which is Le Fourneau “Moderate reduction renders the nose tough to assess today. Otherwise there is good freshness and tension to the solidly concentrated and delineated medium-bodied flavors that exude a more subtle minerality on the firmly austere but not really rustic fina

There's a theme through Louis Boillot's wines of harmony, and, delicacy with intensity. The old iron fist in the velvet glove. The reduction Meadows noted is all but gone now and the fruit is showing fine form. A lovely shape to the palate with that true to domain plush, supple tannin. A wine of great precision and expression.

“The 2022 Marsannay Les Longeroies was cropped at 35hL/ha as the vines are naturally low cropping due to the limestone soils. With around 50% whole bunches, this has an attractive nose with brambly black fruit, sous-bois and a touch of Japanese nori. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannins. The 10% new oak is very judicious, and there’s a harmonious and persistent finish. A superb Marsannay.”Neal Martin, Vinous 91-93 Points"Aromas of plums, red berries and peony int
