A rewarding drink!

Talmard Macon-Montbellet ‘La Bergerie’ 2016

Exploding out of the glass with an immediate generosity. The best value white Burgundy next Chavy's Bourgogne I've tried in recent years.

Exploding out of the glass with an immediate generosity, flowers, citrus pith, stonefruit, hints of spice & more carry through from nose to palate. A lovely texture has you feel like your being enveloped by the wine. Mid-palate weight is impressive. Nothing broad and clumsy. A rewarding drink!

Tasting this wine next to appellation Bourgogne Chardonnay from the Côte de Beaune wines at twice the price revealed a wine that was not only better but cheaper.

$37ea in any 3+, $35ea in any 6+

Why is this Wine so Yummy?

Vins Talmard, is a family affair. The surname Talmard is mentioned in wine-growing records dating as far back as the 17th century. I guess it makes sense that these Chardonnay specialists should be making delicious wine.

Where in the world are they?

The Mâconnaise – Is capable of producing some very good wines. It has become a shining light for value with the ever increasing prices of Burgundy. We’ve seen producers like Comte Lafon from Meursault recognise the potential of the region, establishing the joint venture Domaine Héritiers du Comte Lafon.

It is home to the Village of Chardonnay, the geographic home of the grape! Montbellet lies about 20km north of the township of Mâcon on the river Saône
