Vibrant, energetic, expressive, crunchy fruits of concentration, graced with a fine line of acid. A fine perfume lifts from the glass. A little slatey mineral feel, combined with judicious use of oak, a layer of spicey stalk tannin and mouth filling fruit offer a plush and complete wine. Immediate generosity combines with a transparency that makes for a refreshing combination, it clearly has the legs to age gracefully.
Perhaps the best value Burgundy in our lineup!

Chorey-lès-Beaune is a village in the Côte de Beaune, located just north of Beaune itself. Often overshadowed by more prominent neighbouring appellations, it produces wines that are approachable, balanced, and distinctly Burgundian. The Pinot Noir from this area is typically lighter in style, offering red berry notes, floral hints, and a touch of earthiness.
The vineyard ‘Les Beaumonts’ is a notable lieu-dit within Chorey-lès-Beaune and highlights the appellation’s potential. The wines from this site are less robust than those from nearby Pommard but maintain a comparable level of complexity. Known for their elegance and balance, they are a good example of how Chorey-lès-Beaune reflects the qualities of Burgundy’s terroir while remaining accessible.
Domaine Romain Pertuzot, located in the heart of Burgundy just 3 km from Beaune, was founded in 2008 by Romain Pertuzot and his wife, Evelyne. This family-run estate, set in Chorey-lès-Beaune on the lower slopes of the Côte de Beaune, produces exceptional wines from Chorey as well as the neighbouring villages of Aloxe-Corton and Savigny-lès-Beaune, renowned in the wine world.
The domaine began with a small, family-owned vineyard of just 0.25 hectares of Chorey rouge. Over the years, the estate has expanded to over 3 hectares, encompassing additional vineyards through both leasing and purchase, including Chorey rouge and blanc, and select parcels in Beaune, Pommard, and Bourgogne. Since 2020, Domaine Pertuzot has closely collaborated with a trusted grower, allowing the couple to oversee viticulture practices for grapes used in their Beaune 1er Cru and Pommard wines.
Romain and Evelyne bring a blend of experience and passion to Domaine Pertuzot. Romain trained with renowned estates like Domaine Dujac, Ann Gros, Latour in Beaune, Mouton Rothschild, and Domaine Jacques Prieur, where he honed his craft under the guidance of Nadine Gublin. Evelyne, while balancing her position as an accountant for a wine distributor, plays an active role in vineyard management. Together, they work hand-in-hand with their three children, continuing a family legacy rooted in Burgundy’s rich winemaking traditions.
In 2024, Romain left his winemaking role at Domaine Jacques Prieur to fully dedicate himself to managing these vineyards, growing the Domaine’s offerings to include Bourgogne Aligoté, Hautes Côtes de Beaune blanc, and more wines that embody the best of Burgundy.
At Domaine Pertuzot, a deep respect for nature guides each aspect of their vineyard work. Romain and Evelyne are committed to natural, meticulous viticulture, with every vineyard parcel cared for according to the lunar cycles, without the use of chemical herbicides, relying instead on traditional tillage* and manual practices. Each vine is pruned and harvested by hand, ensuring the grapes reach their full maturity and reflect the purity of the soils. The result is a range of wines that capture the elegance, character, and authenticity of Burgundy, focusing on the signature grape varieties of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
