Feeling Thirsty?

Weingut Nikolaihof Gutswein Riesling 2017

Riesling | Wachau, Austria

"The 2017 Riesling Gutswein was harvested late with some botrytis and stopped at 12g/L of residual sweetness. Juicy apricot and peach beckon on the nose, promising fruity generosity that the palate promptly delivers - smooth and off-dry. Herbal lift adds dimension, while concentration and ripeness fill the mouth. Fine concentration, acidity and a pithy sense of phenolics and citrus are beautifully set against that slight sweetness, making this an alluring proposition. Off dry."Anne Krebiehl

Yet another superb 2021 Barbaresco. Clarity, purity & persistence. Sitting at 14%, the vitality of the 2021 Rombone is clear. A thread of acid sits in synergy with fine, long, grape-first chalky tannins. On the redder side of the fruit spectrum, showing the touch of skilled hands, particularly during time on skins as the mouthfeel caresses. It has much going on with a perfume balanced by an earthiness wrapping the core of fruit. A triumph!Paul Kaan, Wine Decoded Oct 2024

Vibrant and energetic with an excellent core of long red fruit. Wrapped with an array of mocha and rancio characters, a little leather, tabacco, savoury notes, and a saline line of blood. A little baking spice and orange citrus oil.  Loads going on. Oak layered in beautifully. Fine line of beautifully integrated refreshing acid. A delicious Tondonia. Such intrigue. Much fun to be had!Paul Kaan, Wine Decoded Oct 2024The 2012 Viña Tondonia Reserva comes from a very dry year, with 25%
