Dry German Riesling is Back Baby! I just stuck a case of this bad boy in the cellar!

Description

Wagner Stemple Riesling Trocken from 2015 shone through as one of the best value wines in line up of German Rizza’s. A cracking dry wine of insane purity and length with great poise. One that’s a fun drink now, but will undoubtedly stand the test of time.

Packing a serious amount of flavour into the equivalent of a Village Level wine in Burgundy.

Why is this Wine so Yummy?

One Tuesday arvo in Spring, I found myself running through the rain to get to a last minute tasting of German Riesling. Boy, was I glad I put in the effort. I found a bundle of great wines. Trying the perfect, $1,100 Keller G-Max from 2015 amongst them!

“All the ‘entry and mid level dry’ whites from WS are under screwcap. Granitic, rugged looking vineyard. These entry level WS wines are crackers. Rip into them, I say.
Lemon and lime, kaffir lime leaf, ginger, peppery spice notes, honeysuckle. Brilliant vivid perfume. Settles all mouthwatering and fresh in the palate, intense, concentrated but crystalline and set on steel rods of acidity. It’s a belter of a wine.” Mike Bennie winefront.com.au
