Everyone’s gushing! I’ve had loads of Syberia since it’s first release and it never fails to impress. The site is epic. I hit the vineyard with Franco a while back and my calves almost exploded!

Franco’s at the top of his game producing cracking wines from an amazing site. Add a great vintage in 2017 & you have a recipe for happiness!

For those that haven’t had these wines before they represent some of the best value Pinot & Chardonnay you’ll find.

Hoddles Creek’s vineyards are in the cooler upper Yarra, the slopes of many of the sites are calf breaking.

The wines show a deft touch, balancing power and delicacy beautifully.

Located on our steepest, highest block at Hoddles Creek. Syberia is always quite different to the standard Hoddles Creek Chardonnay. The row orientation is East-West so it doesn’t see a lot of direct sunlight on bunches. The wine is whole bunch pressed straight to cask, no fining and zero filtration.

From the day the vines were planted, Syberia has always been a special block. We choose only the best barrels for to make this cuvee.

A higher elevation from a low-yielding site. Whole bunch pressed and fermented in barrel. Quite reductive and flinty with a sizzling core of acidity and terrific lusciousness supported by the mouthwatering crunchy acid. It hangs long, fine and focused. Gently fleshy and pulpy with a nice grip locking up the finish. Drink now or hold.

The name of this appellation comes from Mont de Lieu which marks the border between Burgundy and Champagne, illustrated by a marker stone dividing the two duchies which can be found on its summit. With a double exposure moving from south to southeast facing, this terroir benefits from a higher average temperature and more sunshine than the other Premiers Crus.

Seriously! How often to Graacher and Wehlener just come up with the goods. This is a superb Kabinett.  It has that slide flinty, reductive edge, less so than Prüm's Graacher. Huge energy here with a sense of translucence somehow coming through over the divine fruits. Reminds me of Clemens Busch. It has incredible length, with a pinch of salt to finish.
