Garrigue

Garigue or phrygana is a type of low, soft-leaved scrubland ecoregion and plant community in the Mediterranean forests, woodlands, and scrub biome. It is found on limestone soils in southern France and around the Mediterranean Basin, generally near the seacoast where the moderated Mediterranean climate provides annual summer drought.[1][2][3] The term has also found its way into haute cuisine, suggestive of the resinous flavours of a garigue shrubland. Feeling Thirsty?

White Cap - Dry "The lime-green-golden 2019 Bernkasteler Lay Auslese ** (White Capsule) is deep, intense and concentrated yet elegant and still precise and flinty on the nose. The attack on the palate is stunningly young and vital before the elegant and crystalline wine reveals its complexity and inner power. This is a tightly structured, very digestible and still edgy Auslese that needs another 5-6 years or so to settle and shine. This 2019 is enormously salty on the finish and highly promising

As expected this is delicious, and that little bit more giving over the 2016. I’d go so far as to say it’s drinking well now, again like all of the wines of the estate I’ve tried, a little extra time will be its friend. While I say it is drinking well now, I mean as a young Burgundy, the metamorphisis that occurs with great Burgundy always requires time. It’ll be smack bang in the drinking window well before the 2016. This is a case of celebrating the difference not necessarily choosing

Domaine Thibert Pouilly-Vinzelles ‘Les Longeays’ 2020

Chardonnay | Pouilly-Fuisse, Burgundy

“Moderate wood is present on the aromas of prominent mineral reduction and smoky ripe essence of pear, anise and acacia blossom. There is again fine underlying tension to the stony and well-detailed middle weight flavors that terminate in a lingering and youthfully austere finale that is texturally akin to sucking on a small pebble. This isn't exactly rustic though it's clearly not as refined plus it could use better depth so a few years of keeping are advised. Highly recommended provided you

The 2023 Primofiore is more savory than sweet, opening with dusty rose tones, a beguiling whiff of tangerine, wild strawberries and stone dust. It is round and energetic in style, perfumed with violet and lavender tones as ripe blackberry fruits swirl throughout. The finish is classically dry and long, yet remarkably fresh, leaving a subtle tannic crunch and a hint of wild blueberry to linger.Eric Guido, Vinous 93 Points50% Corvina and Corvinone, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet
