Feeling Thirsty?

Eric et Joël Durand Cornas ‘Empreintes’ 2020

Shiraz/Syrah | Rhône Valley, Cornas

Building to show a step up in depth and length. A lick of cleverly used, integrated oak hiding behind the fruit will disappear completely with a little more time in bottle. The tannins show an edge more grip than the Premises in a good way. A bolder iteration with fruit driving the full length of the palate. A little mocha and orange peel with a pop of licorice on that same graphite mineral feel. This merits a decant when young. The 2020 Cornas Empreintes is slightly minty and herbal up f

Giovanni Sordo Barolo 'Perno' MAGNUM 2016
The Bold!
Excellent, immediately took me to the 2010 Riserva. Wonderful density. Every sniff sees another scent wafting out of the glass. Excellent, immediately took me to the 2010 Riserva. Wonderful density. Every sniff sees another scent wafting out of the glass. The tannins show the benefit of a long ripening season. Yes, they have structure, they are damn fine tannins of exceptional depth and length. The 2022 Ruchottes-Chambertin Clos des Ruchottes Grand Cru is one of my favorite aromatics from Rousseau, one you instantly fall in love with - real frisson, red berry fruit laced with shucked oyster shell. The palate is very well-balanced, framed by filigree tannins. There is real tension from start to finish, as you expect from this vineyard, finishing with immense precision. Fabulous wine.Neal Martin, Vinous 96-98 Points Tasted Nov 2023 Drink 2028-2065An exuberantly spicy nose ref

Weingut Nikolaihof Gutswein Riesling 2017

Riesling | Wachau, Austria

"The 2017 Riesling Gutswein was harvested late with some botrytis and stopped at 12g/L of residual sweetness. Juicy apricot and peach beckon on the nose, promising fruity generosity that the palate promptly delivers - smooth and off-dry. Herbal lift adds dimension, while concentration and ripeness fill the mouth. Fine concentration, acidity and a pithy sense of phenolics and citrus are beautifully set against that slight sweetness, making this an alluring proposition. Off dry."Anne Krebiehl
