Domaine Antoine Jobard Meursault 2023

Chardonnay | Meursault, Burgundy

Here too there is a whiff of the exotic lurking in the background of the aromas of jasmine tea, white flower and passion fruit. The very generously proportioned flavors are rich to the point of opulence with a highly seductive mouthfeel before tightening up on the impressively long, balanced and complex finale. This is an excellent Meursault villages that is warmly recommended plus it should age gracefully. ♥ Outstanding Top valueAllen Meadows, Burghound 89-92 PointsNM 90-92Not

Domaine William Fèvre Chablis 2023

Chardonnay | France, Burgundy

Sourced from a mosaic of exposures and elevations and incorporating old vines planted between 1969 and 1972, the 2023 Chablis Village offers aromas of pear, white flowers and freshly baked bread. Medium- to full-bodied, ample and charming, it is underpinned by ripe yet racy acidity and concludes with a long, saline finish. Harvested earlier to preserve freshness, this is a well-executed village-level Chablis. Drink: 2026 – 2038Kristaps Karklins, The Wine Advocate 90 Points

Laurent Tribut Chablis MAGNUM 2023

Chardonnay | France, Burgundy

Ripe aromas of poached pear and apple compote are laced with hints of iodine, lemon rind and a whiff of brine. The succulent, round and sappy middle weight flavors display notably better than average persistence on the citrusy, clean and nicely dry finale. Here too there is a whiff of the exotic that includes lychee and passion fruit on the layered nose laced with iodine, seaweed, floral and lemongrass wisps. The exceptionally rich, even opulent, medium-bodied flavors manage to be at once generous yet refined, all wrapped in a clean, dry and youthfully austere finale. This is an interesting wine as the mid-palate is quite open and lush while the finish is fairly tightly wound. Worth checking out as this should drink well both young and with up to

The 2023 Pechstein G.C. opens with a deep, fresh, pure, elegant and lemony as well as flinty bouquet that needs a little while to open up. Full-bodied, refined and elegant on the palate, this is an intense, very complex and aromatic, super sustainable and finely tannic Pechstein with fennel seed flavors and rare calm and balance on the saline finish, which makes this an outstanding relaxed and very distinctive Riesling. 12.5% stated alcohol. The 2017er Wehlener Sonnenuhr BA was harvested at a full 150° Oechsle. The wine proves still rather restrained yet already more than hints at gorgeous TBA-like notes of honey, raisin, baked spices, apple jelly, orange zest, toffee, and nut paste come through. These scents lead to stunningly creamy and honeyed notes including raisin, baked spices and apple jelly on the palate. Thibaud Boudignon Savennières ‘Clos de La Hutte’ MAGNUM 2020

Chenin Blanc | Savennières, D'Anjou-Saumur

”The 2020 Clos de la Hutte is a wine that makes your shoulders drop such is its tranquility and sense of comfort in your mouth. It blooms in the mouth and does so without any sense of heaviness. The finish, scented with flowers and nectarines, is long, fragrant and textural. I hate using the word minerality as it means so many different things to people, but in my opinion, this has it in spades. It is incredible that the vines were only planted in 2011 on the schistous site on the grounds of a

Thibaud Boudignon Savennières ‘Clos de La Hutte’ MAGNUM 2022

Chenin Blanc | Savennières, D'Anjou-Saumur

Clos de la Hutte is always a stunning wine. My note on the 2021 read: "Epically good, long and fine. Harmony, seamless, delicacy with mid-palate presence and length. Nuanced, refined texture lined by superb phenolics. White flowers, super fresh white stone fruit, quince, hints of lemon oil & bees wax.  A little crème patissiere & baking spice. Intoxicating. Massive competitor with 1er Chassage, Puligny, Meursault. Incredible length."Although it's ungenerous on the nose, the

"This is more floral still with additional interest appearing in the form of citrus, oyster shell and apple scents. The rich, powerful and moderately full-bodied flavors possess both good verve and volume while displaying excellent length on the lightly mineral-inflected finish. Despite the volume the mouth feel here is really quite refined and I like the evident typicity." Drink 2022+ ♥ OutstandingNote: from a .30 ha parcel in Côte de BréchainAllen Meadows, Burghound
“The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a compelling bouquet with wet limestone, petrichor and Granny Smith on the nose. This has very good vigor. The palate is well-balanced with an understated opening, just a light walnut and white peach note emerging with time and rounding out the finish. Very fine.” Neal Martin, Vinous 91-93 Points JM 91-94

The Godfather of the Saar makes truly special wine deserving of the title. AP: 06 22. The 2021er Scharzhofberger Riesling Spätlese is a sweet wine with an absolutely stunning nose made of cassis, a hint of pineapple, ginger, whipped cream, minty herbs, and smoky elements. The wine proves incredibly finely balanced on the palate, where pear sorbet joins the party and adds to the zingy yet nicely focused in the finish. What makes this wine so special is the incredible purity and finesse that

Once again there is a whiff of the exotic on the lychee nut-inflected aromas of white peach, acacia blossom, oyster shell and lemongrass. The wonderfully sleek and refined medium-bodied flavors brim with both minerality and dry extract on the stony, moderately austere and sneaky long finale. The 2021 Chablis 1er Cru La Forest is a young classic, mingling scents of sweet citrus oil and peach with notions of white flowers, struck match, bee pollen and youthful reduction in an incipiently complex bouquet. Medium to full-bodied, fleshy and textural, it's concentrated, taut and incisive, with a long, mineral finish. Drink 2025-2045William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 94 Points AM 94
Prominent notes of shellfish and mineral reduction add breadth to the aromas of lemon rind, apple and discreet floral wisps that also include a suggestion of the exotic. The racy and intensely citrus-suffused medium-bodied flavors exude plenty of minerality on the attractively dry, youthfully austere and linear finale. This firm if not especially dense effort is going to require at least a few years of keeping to unwind and add depth but ultimately, it should be excellent if given time. Drink
Here the airy and expressive nose is even more floral in character with its notes of acacia, rose petal and even a suggestion of gardenia on the aromas of ocean breeze, wet stone and shellfish. The more refined and highly energetic if less concentrated medium-bodied flavors tighten up noticeably on the focused, moderately austere and overtly stony finale. This seductive yet serious effort is going to require at least a few years of patience and should repay up to a decade of keeping if you wis
There is ample citrus influence suffusing the nose that could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its array of seashore, algae and oyster shell scents. The caressing but notably denser and more powerful larger-bodied flavors coat the palate while retaining an attractive texture on the strikingly persistent finish that is shaped by bright acidity. This can't match the MdT for refinement but it is presently more complex and should age just as well. Drink 2032+Allen Meadows, Burghound 89-92 P
