Sottimano Barbaresco ‘Pajorè’ 2019

Nebbiolo | Treiso, Barbaresco

From one of the famed Cru's of the Commune of Treiso, Barbaresco. A classic, superb fruit of depth and considerable length here, backed by long tannins of excellent mouthfeel. Loads going on with darker fruits and an array of complexing earthy, savoury notes, spices and blood orange adding layer after layers of subtle complexity. Plenty in the tank here too. Classic Barbaresco. Wait 5 years before trying.

Francesco Versio Barbaresco 2019

Nebbiolo | Neive, Barbaresco

The 'Side Project' of ex-Bruno Giacosa's winemaker Francesco Versio this is a stunner! The Francesco Versio 2019 Barbaresco is delicate and fine, almost fragile, with iris root, rusty nail, cassis and licorice root. The wine is carefully balanced to show the intensity of the grape, yet its aromatic profile is carefully measured and contained overall. This is an exciting wine with impeccable winemaking.Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate 95 PointsA Neive village blend of San Cristoforo, Curr

Fletcher Barbaresco ‘Roncaglie’ 2021

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barbaresco

An Aussie in Piedmont! Dave Fletcher's Barbaresco is turning heads in Australia & Italy! PREVIOUS VINTAGE The 2020 Barbaresco Roncaglie shows a distinctly earthy, savory expression of Barbaresco, with the fruit pushed more into the background than it is in some of the other wines in the range. Dried herbs, flowers, mint, macerated cherry and sweet pipe tobacco all open in the glass. The Roncaglie is not an overt wine, rather it is a Barbaresco built on subtlety and nuance.Antonio Galloni, Vi

This gorgeous old-vine Chassagne rouge hails from a single 0.94-hectare parcel of 50-plus-year-old Pinot Noir vines grown on the red clays of Les Grandes Terres on the Santenay side of Chassagne. The clay-rich soil has long produced some of the finest and silkiest reds of the village. The 2022 fermented with 50% bunches, bringing perfume and extra-fine tannins. It’s an incredibly pretty, floral, red-and-blue-fruited expression of Chassagne. It’s already drinking remarkably well!“M

The 2023 Primofiore is more savory than sweet, opening with dusty rose tones, a beguiling whiff of tangerine, wild strawberries and stone dust. It is round and energetic in style, perfumed with violet and lavender tones as ripe blackberry fruits swirl throughout. The finish is classically dry and long, yet remarkably fresh, leaving a subtle tannic crunch and a hint of wild blueberry to linger.Eric Guido, Vinous 93 Points50% Corvina and Corvinone, 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet

The flow, harmony, fine long fruit and acid entranced. An edgy grip works well in a cleansing way. Super juicy, fine, refreshing with so much energy, vibrant and long. This will settle into something delicious. Savoury, meaty play going on, building into some forest floor. Tightly wound with plenty more to come. This is well worth having a look at, a demonstration of the new Rioja!El Escolladero is a vineyard planted in 1950 in the village of Ábalos at 660 meters in altitude. As with mo

Luigi Pira Barolo ‘Margheria’ 2021

Nebbiolo | Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo

All south-facing and sitting at 340 metres, vinification is the same as the Barolo ‘Serralunga’.Intense and complex nose with notes of fruit and flowers and hints of leather and fresh hay, while on the palate it’s perfectly knit and very distinctive, red fruited in style with ironstone, choc-cherry, roses and some of the darker notes of cola and porcini, along with textural red plum-skin, grippy, black-tea tannins that underpin, but it’s still generous and very approachable now.

The 2019 Pinot Noir Saint Rose a new wine in this lineup. The 2019 is a blend of the best barrels from Domaine de la Côte and La Encantada vineyards. Ripe red cherry, blood orange, spice, menthol and a good deal of savoriness from the 50% whole clusters are front and center. Pliant and creamy, the 2019 is so expressive todav. Beautifully composed, flowing and elegant for a Grumello  a commune that can show a little more overt grunt in the context of Valtellina. While there is a rounder mid palate the delicacy entrances. Incredibly layered and fine. The fruit marries woody herbs, spice tea and beyond with a blood orange feel. Long though not quite the length of the Sant’Antonio. Fine drinking to be had here.Very fine, pure, ultra-mineral expression of Nebbiolo here. Strawberry, raspberry, spice, fennel, min
