Ar.Pe.Pe Valtellina Superiore Inferno Fiamme Antiche 2017
Neb from the North!
Crystal clear with a more savoury flavour profile. As it opens in the glass it comes together beautifully! This too is very good. Crystal clear with a more savoury flavour profile. Took a bit longer for this to open up.  As it did it came together beautifully, the tannins have a little more presence here. The flowers are at play around the edges. The rounder mid-palate differentiates Sassella from Inferno. It’s a little about celebrating the differences once again. As always ArPePe offer up e

Grumello is to the east of Sondrio on the opposite side to Sassella making for a fascinating comparison in site! Of the three Superiores this looks the darkest, the tannins sit more aggressively, yet, not overly so. With a plate of food you'd not notice. A little shorter than the other Superiores. The acid appears higher. Another complex offering from Ar.Pe.Pe. A little disjointed at the moment. It is the wine I am least certain of in term of it's evolution as it ages.

Domaine Louis Boillot Bougogne 2019

Pinot Noir | Burgundy, France

There is a level of sophistication that you typically only see at the next level up, the village wines! “Super-fresh aromas of cool and pretty red berries are laced with earth elements that are also reflected by the vibrant and nicely detailed middle weight flavors that possess fine depth and length for a wine at this level.” Allen Meadows, 86-89 Points ♥ Outstanding Top valueThe fruit for the Bourgogne comes largely from Gevrey-Chambertin with a splash from Brochon.

Rosso doing it right! Fuligni's 'Ginestreto' is beautifully poised. Ever so devourable this is classic Sangio! Excellent. True to the Fuligni style, perhaps with an extra bit of complexity for the wine at this stage of its life. A wonderful core of fruit. This is more in the mold of a baby Brunello than a playful Rosso. Plush, with fine tannins, generous mid-palate and great length. The build in complexity with layers of intrigue, from earthy almost truffled pops. Long delicious. Plump and vital

Antoniotti Bramaterra 2016

Red Blend | Italy, Alto Piemonte

The Alto is sharing its gems with us! Antoniotti's Bramaterra is a stunner. A blend of 70% Nebbiolo, 20% Croatina, 7% Vespolina & 3 % Bonarda, it just keeps giving, sniff after sniff offering up something new and special, layered, earthy, savoury, a little pine resin, spice, blue fruits and more. A richness of fruit, that I suspect is fortified by the Coratina and Vespolica, yet freshness rests beautifully in a cradle of suitably edgy Neb tannin that has you salivating for more!If this

La Ca’ Növa Barbaresco 2021

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barbaresco

The 2021 Barbaresco is exquisite. Bright and delineated, with tons of energy, the 2021 bristles with saline-infused energy. Red berry fruit, blood orange, chalk, mint and white pepper lend tons of energy to this deceptively mid-weight, nervy young Barbaresco. Vineyard sites are Ovello, Cole and Loreto.Antonio Galloni, Vinous 94 Points

Boasso Barolo ‘Margheria’ 2016

Nebbiolo | Serralunga d'Alba, Barolo

Cru Margheria at this price is unheard of! As you climb the Boasso hierarchy the structure builds. Amping up the edge on the tannin with a resinous finish. Yeah, the tannins are old school, the fruit, however, is contempary, fresh, and energetic. Lovely red fruits which like the Commune are made to look a little darker with the Tea and Tar. Definitely a lift in depth and length of fruit. The tannins will need some time to resolve and come into balance. Where the Commune sits fruit vs tannin is a

Fletcher Barbaresco ‘Recta Pete’ 2021

Nebbiolo | Piedmont, Barbaresco

An Aussie in Piedmont! Dave Fletcher's Barbaresco is turning heads in Australia & Italy! FYI - Recta Pete translates to Shoot Straight. Dave has a deft touch making sophisticated wine with fine bone and a delicious core of fruit. He's quickly established respect in the region through is work making the wine at Cerretto and his efforts establishing his own venture. The wines always show great restraint and harmony.By all accounts Dave's done it again in 2018. Can't wait to get my laughing gea

Our Barbera d'Alba Superiore is made from Barbera grapes grown on our own vineyards. These vineyards are planted on Helvetian soil, which lends structure and elegance, enhanced by approximately one year of aging in wood. The color is an intense ruby red, tending towards violet and purple. On the nose, it offers vinous aromas of red and black fruits such as cherry, plum, and blackberry. The palate is full and robust, with a pleasant flavor of typical red and black fruits and a pleasant sensation

L’Aietta Rosso di Montalcino 2022

Sangiovese | Tuscany, Italy

About L’Aietta – The Artist L’Aietta started in 2001, when I was still in high school. I discovered that the place where I had been going on Sundays with my family and friends to have picnics and barbecues, that had not only olive trees and a few vines, but these vines (more or less 1000 square […]

A lift in perfume. Build in overt whole bunch stalk and spice with a sappy nature. Lined up toward Grenache a little more. A delicacy with a finely weighted palate. Refreshing and thirst-quenching, it draws you in. The palate is much more complete than the nose at the moment. I expect the whole bunch nose to resolve over the coming year to deliver a special wine.Paul Kaan, Wine DecocdedCésar's 2023 El Rapolao was sourced from a centenary plot in the coldest part of the village, wher
