Massolino Langhe Nebbiolo 2021

Nebbiolo | Serralunga d'Alba, Italy

A great way to get your eye in on the 2021 vintage! Vibrant with loads of energy & zippy fresh acid, slatey & mineral, dark, with tobacco at play. Perfumed, fine. Roses and red fruits, a little resinous note, fine long & plenty of fun. Dusting/chalky tannins making for a good complex with the acid. Again we see the low pH offering freshness. The site near Monforte d’Alba  adds altitude freshness, Alba fruit (power), Serralunga freshness and elegance. This spends 15month large

"AP: 11 21. The 2020er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett was made from fruit picked at 78° Oechsle on up to 100-year-old un-grafted vines and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (48 g/l). It offers a superb nose made of white flower, smoky elements, herbs, white flowers, and fine spices. The wine is subtly creamy yet so incredibly light-footed on the palate. Loads of minerals, floral flavors, and finely spicy elements add to the incredibly playful presence. The finis

Craiglee Shiraz 2019

Shiraz/Syrah | Victoria, Australia

A delicate lick of oak with a hint of mocha is quickly usurped by fresh red and darker fruits, a little liquorice, and a background layer of plum pudding with spices and candied citrus rind. A savoury cured meat / light reduction adding complexity. Superfine, flowing, and soft texture with excellent mid-palate weight and length. Blossoming in the glass. Another classic from Pat! If Pat Carmody can’t make great shiraz, then we should all shut up shop. He’s only been doing so at C

Domaine Bernard Defaix Chablis 2022

Chardonnay | France, Burgundy

This is very good. Defaix has given us a restrained, detailed expression of Chablis. Mineral with juicy fruit, citrus, and most importantly loads of personality. The fruit drive is impressive, balanced by lightning energy and zippy acid. The mouthfeel is superb, long and refined with great length. A build in depth and length a little more fine saline acid keeping it fresh and mouthwatering.Cleverly built up layer after layer with fruit savoury pops élévage that sees it resolved, together

Nebbiolo makes fantastic fresh Rosé Great to see the development on this. Nicely weighted and flowing, red fruits with some of the green / woody herb + spice. This is delicious, dry fine juice with a mouthwatering acid structure. Strong.Airy and fresh yet complex as well, the 2022 Il Rosato impresses with its lifting notes of rose, crushed stone, peach skins and lemon oil. Refined yet juicy and fruit-forward, this casts lime-tinged apple and green melon easily across the palate, energi

Yeringberg Marsanne Roussanne 2019

White Blend | Yarra Valley, Australia

A Yarra Valley classic. A wine with incredible delicacy and complexity. "Marsanne 64%, Roussanne 36%. Our 2019 white blend is a wine of subtlety, nuance and savoury complexity. Initially  demure, the nose offers savoury, quince and herbal notes, almond, delicate jasmine and honeysuckle florals. With time in the glass, aromas evolve towards spiced pear, honeydew, lanolin and white pepper. The palate starts with lively, deeply savoury citrus and quince notes, a midpalate that’s an almost contr

Yeringberg Chardonnay 2019

Chardonnay | Yarra Valley, Australia

"A wine of subtlety and composure, our 2019 Chardonnay is a wine of real presence. Cool, elegant floral aromas with notes of nectarine, citrus blossom and struck match, develop to offer generosity and richness, with hints of white peach, hazelnut and oatmeal biscuit. The palate is initially lively, creamy and citrus-driven, leading to a lovely touch of pithiness framing the subtle nectarine and lemon curd fruit, and a long, savoury finish. A wine that offers immediate pleasure, but equally, one

Bindi Kostas Rind Chardonnay 2023

Chardonnay | Victoria, Australia

This is a very fine Kostas Rind, coming from the volcanic soils over clay on the lower Bindi Chardonnay plantings from 1988. Destemmed berries go into the press and the juice is taken straight from the tray into the barrels, around 30% of which are new small French oak. The fermentation occurs without yeast addition and the wine remains on all lees for ten months until just prior to bottling. The 2023 is very fine and pure, with a vibrant lemon/grapefruit brightness complimented by almond meal,
