Closure

Diam

Diam is a natural cork agreagate closure. The raw cork is preprocessed to remove cork taint. The seal has different ageing potential as selected by the maker between 5 and 30 years. You’ll find the number on the cork indicating this. Coravin needle use is possible.

A cooler and airier array is comprised by notes of citrus, quinine and essence of algae. The ultra-sleek and overtly mineral-driven flavors possess cuts-like-a-knife delineation before terminating in a chiseled, linear and moderately austere finale. This is a terrific example of Les Lys, indeed it’s textbook.91-94 points, Drink: 2028+ BurghoundThe 2021 Chablis 1er Cru Les Lys is one of the range's highlights this year, offering up aromas of almonds, white flowers, green apple, cri

Vanguardist 'MVG' Grenache MAGNUM 2021
🧠+❤️= 💯

Vanguardist ‘MVG’ Grenache MAGNUM 2021

Grenache | South Australia, Australia

Another superb wine taking Aussie Grenache to a whole new level! "Raspberry steeped in liqueur, plenty of perfume, lots of spice, almond paste. Medium-bodied, raspberry and subtle earthiness, firm pumice stone tannin, lots of crunch, hazelnut and crisp red berries, very bright and long. Some tea and tobacco savoury stuff. Such an excellent wine. Structural but ripe. The quality of tannin is outstanding. Serve it in a big Burgundy glass! Drink 2024-2034."Gary Walsh TWF 97 Points

I had to have a bottle before our stock ran out! Ripped the cork out of the last bottle in stock. Drank it over 3 days. My note simply read 'GET MORE'! Although this wine has increased in price considerably over the years, so has the quality.'Between Two Mountains' stands held high amongst its peers from Burgundy's Côte de Nuits that sell for far more. The purity, harmony, texture, flow, complexity, energy, perfume and layering are a demonstration of the hard work in the vineyard and de

Transparency with excellent shape and just a little grip. Transcendent perfume, rising over restrained fruit of significantly more length over the Mari Mango. Layered complex and quite delicious.Paul Kaan, Win Decoded“This is the only pinot noir from 2023 from POCW. About a third is whole bunch across all the clones and sites on the estate vineyard. The wine ends up in Stockinger barrels for 21 months. Serious approach. A very good wine. Very. Fine, tight, tense, succulent, dark cher

Stéphane Moreau called Forêts “…one of the greatest terroirs of Chablis.” It’s a historical sub-plot within the 1er Cru Montmains, located high up the slope and facing southeast. It can certainly produce Chablis of the highest order, as both Dauvissat and Moreau have shown many times (Raveneau also has a small parcel). Moreau farms two plots of vines here, over a total of just under two hectares. The first is alongside the vineyard of Vincent Dauvissat, and the vines are the s

From the vineyard Frontebosco, in front of the forrest. Big jump in mid-palate weight from the Contrada Volpare with more exotics coming through in the mix. This is impressive, the underlying saline thing is there. Beautiful shape and flow, fans out building persistence and lingering citrus oils.Builds beautifully, super fine acid and nuanced, sophisticated phenolics that cleanse subtly. Seamless, harmonious and complete.Plenty more to come here. Drink it over 3-4 days & watch it s

From the vineyard Frontemare, in front of the sea. The first release of the sister wine to the Frontebosco.More tightly wound at the moment everything appears to be there in all the right places it just needs a little more time to build generosity which it most certainly will.Finer acid if that's even possible. Citrus and soft green herbs again chalky and more mineral characters in the mix. A lovely transparency and fine finish without any broadness. Building more mid-palate weight in

The Maugeri 2023 Etna Bianco Superiore Contrada Volpare Frontebosco (with 6,200 bottles created) comes from a vineyard adjacent to a forest with ancient stone terracing, as its name "Frontebosco" suggests. It's not just the power of suggestion, because you do pick up on hints of balsam herb or forest floor beyond white fruit and peach. The wine ages on lees for eight months (with no malolactic fermentation and no bâtonnage). These techniques (or lack thereof) contribute to the wine's linear and

The most mineral-driven of these new releases from Maugeri is the 2023 Etna Bianco Superiore Contrada Praino Frontemare. This is a young winery with enormous promise ahead of it. Grapes for this 3,300-bottle release come from a vineyard site on the east side of the volcano that faces the sea and has steep stone terraces on sandy, mineral-rich soils and yellowish clay. The wine spends eight months on the fine lees (with no malolactic fermentation and no bâtonnage). The result offers salty flavor

This Climat is almost an extension of the slopes where the Grands Crus grow, with only a small path separating them. Sitting directly alongside Les Preuses, the proximity to its illustrious neighbours results in powerful, mineral wines. This could be from nowhere else but Chablis with its equally cool, elegant and airy aromas of white-fleshed fruit, floral, iodine and subtle passion fruit-scanted nose. On the left bank of Le Serein and on the middle of the slope, Vaillons is a particularly well-positioned Premier Cru that enjoys an excellent reputation thanks to the work of several key growers. The domaine works with vines planted in 1974 in the lieux-dits of Les Epinottes (a cooler part of the vineyard) and Roncières (which provides more opulence). Then, a parcel of 75-year-old vines in Sécher usually accounts for 30% of the blend and provides intense mineral cut and structure. The wine wa
