Shallow, thigh deep, open granite tanks used for fermenting Port wines. After the fruit is placed in the lagare it is foot stomped in a process called the corte, the cut. This gently extracts all colour, tannin and flavour from the grapes.

Benoît Lahaye Blanc de Noir Base 18 NV

Pinot Noir | Montagne de Reims, Bouzy

After drinking a bottle of his 2012 I literally had no choice but to get more of Benoît’s wines in!The Lahaye hallmarks are all here. Pinot shines through with red fruit of excellent length & depth. Beautifully developed with what appears to be the typical energy and superb balance of the house. Lahaye clearly has great touch in both vineyard and winery.100% Pinot Noir from Bouzy (“Les Vaux Bétins” and “Les Hannepés” plots with deep soils) and Tauxières, in an area call

Roches Neuves Samur-Champigny 2021

Cabernet Franc | Saumur-Champigny, D'Anjou-Saumur

Beautiful, plump yet linear fruit average 25 up to 70 years. Wild and tank only ferment. Bright lovely balance and flow. Great way to start the range. A little spice woody herb a little violets and blue fruits. A herbal note in a refreshing & very nice way. Moderate weight and length. Restrained crunchy and delicious. As per Gibb's note could easily be drunk with a couple of degrees knocked off it.“The 2021 Domaine des Roches Neuves is made in a light bodied, delicate and fragrant

It's fascinating the from one of Barolos Northern most Crus in Monvigliero, moving to one of the Southern most in Ravera from Novello we see two Crus that are more playful and expressive in their youth. Here we typically see supple tannins, oppulent red fruits with front to mid-palate attack. Again the metamorphosis only time can offer us really is something special. Here's a chance to see a Ravera with a decade+ of bottle age on it and find out just how it transforms! This is such a great

A mildly toasty nose is comprised by notes of red and dark cherry, raspberry and newly turned earth. The rich and caressing medium weight flavors are at once succulent but powerful while delivering fine length on the decidedly firm but not really austere finale. This too offers very fine quality in a built-to-age package.Allen Meadows, Burghound
