Garrigue

Garigue or phrygana is a type of low, soft-leaved scrubland ecoregion and plant community in the Mediterranean forests, woodlands, and scrub biome. It is found on limestone soils in southern France and around the Mediterranean Basin, generally near the seacoast where the moderated Mediterranean climate provides annual summer drought.[1][2][3] The term has also found its way into haute cuisine, suggestive of the resinous flavours of a garigue shrubland. Vietti Barolo ‘Ravera’ MAGNUM 2017

Nebbiolo | Novello, Italy

Because MAGNUMS ARE BETTER! The 2017 Barolo Ravera is a powerhouse. My impression is that the 2017 is going to develop into something truly special. It has all the energy that makes this site so distinctive, but with an extra kick of fruit density and a whole range of exotic aromatics that make for a truly drop dead gorgeous wine. Bright red/purplish fruit, rose petal, chalk and white pepper build into a finish laced with searing intensity. This is such and impressive wine. Drink 2027 - 2042 Ga
Stunning nose of Amarena cherry. Amazing concentration with wonderful elegance and vitality. Super-silky tannins for Nuits-Saint-Georges. Very long, intense yet delicate finish.95-96 Points, Stuart Pigott – James Suckling

Domaine Marc Morey Bourgogne Blanc 2022

Chardonnay | France, Burgundy

Airy and fresh aromas include those of mostly white orchard fruit and discreet citrus wisps. The succulent, delicious and attractively textured middleweight flavors display good length on the mildly rustic bitter lemon-tinged finale. This refreshing effort should drink well shortly after release. Drink: 2026+Allen Meadows, Burghound 86 PointsThe 2022 Bourgogne Blanc offers bright orchard fruit, particularly orange blossom, on the nose that will be difficult to resist in its youth.

Building in seriousness over the two playful entry level wines.  The tannin profile much longer with a little more depth. More development and complexity shows in an earthy and savoury profile. This will build with a little time. A little spice and a delicate layer of well weighted oak at play. The 2022 Finca de Los Locos is slightly riper than the 2021, with 14% alcohol and a rounder mouthfeel. It matured in 3,500-liter oak vats for one year. It feels young and primary but surprisingly
