A Bit of Bindi on the Side ...

Filters & Sorting

This Grenache from Heathcote received a few hours skin contact while being gently pressed, fermented without the addition of yeast to dryness in old French barrels and spent five months maturing on yeast lees. It is a delicately coloured rosé, fresh and fragrant of roses, red currant and cranberry with a fresh, smooth, dry, textured palate. It balances the line of having enough mouthfeel and flavour without having too much. It's proven to be a pleasurable wine to make as the harvest date/ripene

Dhillon by Bindi Glenhope Riesling 2023

Riesling | Victoria, Australia

This new project from the granite soils in the northern end of the Macedon Ranges at 460m above sea level is an exciting addition to our activities. The vineyard was established in 1995 and the fruit has ostensibly been “lost” interstate until new Victorian owners took over in spring 2021. The new regime has quickly invested in the infrastructure and fine-tuned activities and several top producers are sourcing fruit from this excellent site. The Riesling was harvested in mid April and wild y

Dhillon by Bindi Glenhope Chardonnay 2023

Chardonnay | Victoria, Australia

This is the second wine we have made from this nearly 30 year old Macedon Ranges vineyard. The Glenhope vineyard is planted at 450m above sea level on the granite soil at the northern end of the region. The wine is made in the same way we make Bindi Chardonnays; destemmed berries go into the press and the juice is taken straight from the tray into the barrels, around 30% of which are new small French oak. The fermentation occurs without yeast addition and the wine remains on all lees for ten mon

Dhillon by Bindi Col Mountain Grenache 2023

Grenache | Victoria, Australia

We are having a lot of fun making and learning about Grenache (warm climate Pinot!). The rocky and steep Col Mountain vineyard in central Heathcote is a fabulous site for this impressive variety. The wine is made like the Pinot Noir, with similar ripeness levels. It has a little more colour and weight most years but remains fresh and medium bodied. The 2023 has a seductive array of aromas, across pomegranate, rhubarb and raspberry. It is also quite perfumed. The palate is smooth and energetic wi

Bindi Dixon Pinot Noir 2023

Pinot Noir | Victoria, Australia

The Dixon comes from part of the original 1988 planting of Pinot Noir at Bindi and some of the 2001 Kaye vineyard. As always, it's bottled a little earlier than the other five Bindi Pinot Noirs; at ten months rather than 15. The wine is made with destemmed fruit and wild yeast in open fermenters and matured in small French oak barrels. The 2023 is immediately fragrant with lifted red cherry, raspberry, strawberry and spice. There is a touch of eathiness and some savoury cherry stone fragrance. T

Bindi Kostas Rind Chardonnay 2023

Chardonnay | Victoria, Australia

This is a very fine Kostas Rind, coming from the volcanic soils over clay on the lower Bindi Chardonnay plantings from 1988. Destemmed berries go into the press and the juice is taken straight from the tray into the barrels, around 30% of which are new small French oak. The fermentation occurs without yeast addition and the wine remains on all lees for ten months until just prior to bottling. The 2023 is very fine and pure, with a vibrant lemon/grapefruit brightness complimented by almond meal,

Dhillon by Bindi Col Mountain Shiraz 2017

Shiraz/Syrah | Victoria, Australia

This wine, to state the obvious, has been quite a while coming! In 2014 we began making experimental ferments using four clones from this exciting vineyard and decided to mature the blended bottled wines until we felt they were settled and singing. The 2017 Col Mountain is based on the smooth and aromatic Shiraz clones PT23 and 1654 with a little of the robust and rich Yalumba and R6WV28.The Col Mountain wines, from deep red soil with a significant amount of shattered rock, are earthier and

Bindi KAYE Pinot Noir 2023

Pinot Noir | Victoria, Australia

This is a very sentimental wine from our most elevated vineyard, planted in 2001, that pays tribute to my mother, Kaye. It's a vineyard with a stunning perspective over the other vineyards, the winery, house and to the forests and hills beyond. There are some lovely metaphors, no doubt. The site has a lot of quartz and mudstone, a smattering of volcanic soils that have eroded down from the volcanic plateau above, and produces a wine of fragrance, structure and complexity. The 2023 Kaye is alread

Bindi Block Darshan Pinot Noir 2018

Pinot Noir | Victoria, Australia

It's a rare treat to have a wine or three that we hold for five plus years and are able to assess many bottles over the time to enjoy and contemplate. Normally the wines are grown, made, bottled and sold out within 15 to 18 months. With Darshan and Block 8 we have had the opportunity to see many bottles of these wines, to understand the vineyards, the seasons, their personalities and to evolve our expectations. It's been a treat. The 2018 season was a little warmer than 2017. The nose is floral,
