Domaine Louis Jadot Clos Vougeot Grand Cru 2019

Pinot Noir | Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy

"Muscular and powerful, the 2019 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru (Domaine Louis Jadot) opens in the glass with aromas of cherries, sweet berry fruit, raw cocoa, spices, rose petals and licorice. Full-bodied, layered and concentrated, with rich structuring tannins and lively acids, this is built for the long haul."William Kelley, The Wine Advocate

Sabon Châteauneuf-du-Pape ‘Le Secret des Sabon’ 2017

Rhône Blend | Châteauneuf du Pape, France

“On another level, the 2017 Châteauneuf Du Pape Le Secret Des Sabon is stacked and packed and ranks with the top 2-3 wines in this great vintage. A huge nose of blackcurrants, melted licorice, graphite, garrigue and pepper gives way to an uber-full-bodied, concentrated, massively endowed wine that has an insane level of opulence and decadent, sweet tannins, and a huge finish. This is a tour de force in wine that readers need to taste to believe. Given its wealth of fruit and texture, it’s a

It just invites you in! This is what wine is about! A deeply sensual bouquet of freshly sliced plums, crushed violets, mentholated herbs and Tuscan dust rises up from the 2016 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva. This is deeply textural while also cool-toned and refined, with mineral-tinged red and black berries cascading across a core of brisk acidity. Tension builds throughout, as grippy tannins mount toward the close, nicely contrasted by a burst of sour citrus. There’s a crystalline structure t

Montevertine ‘Le Pergole Torte’ 2022

Sangiovese | Tuscany, Chianti Classico

The 2022 Le Pergole Torte is every bit as magnificent as it was last year. Deep and expansive in the glass, with stunning depth, the 2022 stains the palate with layers of dark fruit, mocha, new leather and cedar. The 2022 starts to blossom with just a bit of time in the glass, leading to a finish that explodes on the back end. As has been the case for some time, the differences between Montevertine and Pergole Torte are increasingly mostly about style. The 2022 spent a year in Damy French oak

Rising above the village, this outstanding 1er Cru will be well known to buyers of Paul Pillot & Ramonet. The Moreau family have farmed here for generations, and Benoît himself converted this site to organics. Specifically, this wine comes from a tiny tranche of 60-year-old vines in the northern section of the vineyard (near Les Vergers), where the soils are less marked by the red clay often associated with this cru. Instead, there is a strong limestone presence, resulting in deep, yet mine

Le Macchiole Scrio 2020

Shiraz/Syrah | Tuscany, Bolgheri

A beautiful Syrah from Tuscany, the 2020 Scrio shows impeccable elegance with a very long and linear style that transcends the nose and the palate. I love the precision of this wine. The celebrated Rhône grape has found a very happy home along this part of the Tuscan coast. The team at Le Macchiole is especially talented at bringing out varietal nuances of dark fruit, baking chocolate, spice, charred meat, white pepper and pencil shaving.Monica Larner, The Wine Advocate 97 PointsAntonio

Sometimes when your vineyard is surround that's OK especially when it's surrounded by DRC! An earthier and more somber if nicely layered nose is comprised by notes of both red and dark berries along with a whisper of the sauvage along with a floral top note. The delicious and rounded medium weight flavors possess focused power that really comes up on the dusty, chalky, youthfully austere and impressively persistent finale. This built-to-age effort is going to require at least some patience as it

"Like the Montée de Tonnerre this is overtly floral in character on the lightly spiced nose that displays additional aromas of mineral reduction, iodine, lemon peel and pear. There is a really lovely sense of verve suffusing the powerful yet reasonably refined larger-scaled flavors that culminate in an almost chewy finish thanks to the abundance of sappy dry extract. This isn't as refined as the Montée de Tonnerre but it's just as complex and persistent. Drink 2030+ ♥"Allen Meadows, Burg
"Pale, bright yellow. Pungent aromas of grapefruit pith, lemon zest and wild herbs; really amazing lift here for a vintage with moderate acidity. Seamless and fine-grained, already offering compelling inner-mouth perfume to its flavors of citrus fruits, wild herbs, acacia flower, jasmine and minerals. The wonderfully aromatic, slowly rising finish boasts outstanding floral lift. A great premier cru in the making. Hail and mildew reduced the crop level here to just 25 hectoliters per hectare."

Vietti Barolo ‘Monvigliero’ 2018

Nebbiolo | Verduno, Italy

The 2018 Barolo Monvigliero, another new wine in this range, is dazzling. That's not much of a surprise, as the 2018 has always been gorgeous from barrel. A touch of whole clusters adds aromatic nuance and lift to this super-classic, sculpted Barolo. The Monvigliero impresses with its purity, delineation and class. Superb. Drink 2028-2048 Galloni

Vietti Barolo ‘Cerequio’ 2018

Nebbiolo | Barolo (sub-region), Italy

The 2018 Barolo Cerequio is a new wine in this range. Soaring aromatics and bright, red-toned fruit give the Cerequio its effusive personality. Nuanced and deep, with tremendous complexity and tons of character, the Cerequio is dazzling. This is everything a great Barolo from Cerequio should be. In other words: textbook. More over, it's one of the best wines of this very uneven vintage. Drink 2028 - 2048 Galloni
