From Les Casse-Têtes and Meursault Les Murgers de Monthelie. “This is aromatically similar to the Clousots but with more floral elements. There is even better volume and mid-palate density to the muscular medium weight flavors that coat the mouth with dry extract on the overtly powerful finish where a hint of bitter lemon arises. This is a very serious Meursault villages that should amply repay up to a decade of cellaring. This too is recommended. ♥ 2026+Burghound

Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat Vosne-Romanée 2019

Pinot Noir | Vosne-Romanée, Burgundy

The 2019 Vosne-Romanée Village is also very promising, mingling aromas of cassis and raspberries with hints of dark chocolate, rose hips and warm spices. Medium to full-bodied, concentrated and vibrant, it's deep and layered, with powdery structuring tannins and a long, sapid finish.William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 90-92 Points BH 89-91 NM 88-90

Aromas of cherries, cassis, sweet spices, rose petals and loamy soil introduce the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Village, a medium to full-bodied, deep and concentrated wine that's lively and mineral. From the usual eleven parcels, dotted around the appellation, this is a fine success.William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 89-91 Points BH 89-91 NM 88-90

Domaine Trapet Père et Fils Gevrey-Chambertin Ostréa 2022

Pinot Noir | Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy

A beautifully layered if somewhat reserved nose grudgingly offers up its array of wild dark berries, anise and violet scents. The delicious, concentrated and caressing medium weight flavors possess a lovely sense of refinement on the slightly less powerful mineral-driven finish. This is qualitatively similar to the straight Gevrey villages but the two wines are quite different. Le Parc sits right on the other side of the wall of Clos du Mesnil! 100% Chardonnay from domaine vines planted in 1982. Le Parc is prime territory. The vineyard borders Krug’s uber-famous Clos d’Ambonnay and Selosse’s Le Bout du Clos. There is a thick (nearly 2 meter) clay and sandy loam layer of ‘tufa’ limestone on top of the chalky bedrock in Le Parc, which would suggest a powerful broad and round wine. Yet, Marguet’s version is sleek and saline with a strong chalk influence on the

The haunting flinty nose pulls you into this beautifully eccentric chardonnay that some lovers of this grape will find revolutionary. We say, vive la revolution! With aeration the citrusy aromas and energy expand. Then comes the incredibly racy palate which extends and extends in ways that seems to bend space-time with its elegance. SP 96 Points

Intensely smoky and flinty, also almost blindingly fresh, this is a dangerously chalky Champagne. The bergamot aroma expands dramatically as it aerates in the glass. Extremely concentrated Amalfi lemon character on the super-focused palate, building and building at the driving chalky finish that doesn't want to let go of you.  July 2023SP 98 Points

They understand the rule book so have thrown it away only to be used when they know they need to. I guess that's what 150 years of making wine can give you! The 2016 of this was a cracker. True to the vintage & site with bold yet refined structure. The 2019 is again a cracker and true to vintage. This time all grace and elegance from what is proving a classic year.Beautifully weighted, the body of this slightly warmer vineyard with the clarity and sophistication of 2019 Barbaresco. Rich
