This possesses the most floral-suffused nose in the range with its pretty liqueur-like aromas of various red berries, soft earth and a hint of crushed anise. There is excellent volume to the caressing and seductively textured flavors that exude a subtle minerality on the youthfully austere, firm and compact finale. Like the Caillerets, this needs more depth so at least some patience is in order.Allen Meadows, Burghound 90-92 Points

This is the replanted portion of Vigna Rionda, stil too young to be worthy of the Barolo classification. The 2019 was awarded 98 Points by the Wine Doctor.Crafted by Davide Rosso and Andrea Delpiano from their Serralunga d’Alba estate vineyards. The purity of expression of nebbiolo is breathtaking, and while many of us will find it challenging to wait, these are wines of considerable ageing potential.

A perfumed and exceptionally pretty, elegant and pure nose speaks of wafting essence of red berries, especially cherry, along with exotic spice and floral wisps. I very much like the texture of the beautifully refined middleweight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish that displays excellent length. This could use better depth but that should only be a matter of patience. 2034+ ♥ Sweet spot OutstandingAllen Meadows, Burghound  (91-94) Point

From high density plantings of Cabernet and Petit Verdot. This show how good Bordeaux blends can be in Italy and just how different they are from their French counterparts! Jumping from 4,000 vines a hectare to 8-10,000. Grown as bush vines. Immediate oppulence and generosity on the nose. The structural element from the tannin are very different from the tannins of Bordeaux, edgy again in a good way.  Such complexity with a layer of macerative characters and the perfume they can offer. The Godfather of the Saar makes truly special wine deserving of the title. AP: 05 22. The 2021er Wiltinger braune Kupp Riesling Spätlese is a sweet wine with a beautiful nose made of orchard fruits, cassis, floral elements, bergamot, chalk, and smoke. The wine is beautifully filigreed and elegant on the palate.A subtle touch of whipped cream adds some depth and silkiness to the overall focused and zesty experience. The Valpolicella Classico Superiore Ca’ del Merlot is distinctly savory in the glass, with a thrust of wild herbs that evolves into fresh picked strawberries and wet stone. This is a model of purity and balance, with brilliant acidity that propels its crisp wild berry fruits as violet inner florals collect toward the close. Further elevated by a hint of confectionary spice, it tapers off remarkably fresh and vivid, with a blueberry tinge and dusty tannins that promise a lovely evolution. This

The 2018 Valpolicella Classico Superiore Cal del Merlo wafts up with an incredibly pretty, savory bouquet of dried Mediterranean herbs, geranium and citrus-tinged wild strawberries. It displays depths of ripe red and blue fruits underscored by crisp mineral tones as rosy inner florals arch across the palate, all over a core of tantalizing acidity. The finish is floral and long, leaving a tart sensation of raspberry as hints of lavender fade slowly. This is a supremely elegant and refined vinta

The 2018 Valpolicella Classico Superiore pulls the taster close to the glass with a darkly alluring blend of dried roses, violets, crushed stone, clove and blood orange. It washes across the palate with silken textures, lifted and finessed in the style of the vintage, as ripe wildberry fruits swirl beneath an air of sweet lavender. The word ethereal comes to mind as the 2018 tapers off with sweet tannins that provide a lovely framework to perfumed inner florals and hints of blackberry that reson

Domaine Louis Jadot Corton-Grèves Grand Cru 2019

Pinot Noir | Côte-de-Nuits, Aloxe-Corton

"Abundant menthol and wood nuances are present on the ripe aromas of black raspberry and sauvage scents. The dense, plush and less powerful flavors also exude evident minerality on the austere, focused and balanced finish that isn't quite as complex. Note that this classic Corton is also quite compact and in need of extended cellaring."Allen Meadows, Burghound

"Here too the wood treatment is no longer subtle though it stops short of dominating the pungently earthy humus-inflected mix of red and dark wild berries. There is outstanding volume to the delicious and plump but powerful large-scaled flavors that terminate in a mouthcoating, balanced and built-to-age finale. This possesses excellent development potential though it's not so structured that it couldn't be approached after 7 to 10 years even though it should easily reward 15+."Allen Meadows,
