The blend or cuvée refers to the general blend of a champagne. This can be a blend of varieties, a blend of vintages (non-vintage or close vintage), a blend of sites or villages, or even a combination of the three.

The traditional champagne mantra is that blending is all important, however we are starting to see increased promotion of single village and lieux dits wines as well as more varietal champagnes.

One of the greatest rosé wines of Champagne and a wine of haunting finesse. The blend is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, with 50% from the 2019 vintage and the reserve wines split between 2018 and 2017. The dosage is a negligible 1 g/L. This is 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay from 40-year-old vines in Ambonnay. The Egly family select the grapes for this wine at harvest and raise the wine completely in barrel.
