Côte du Beaune

Puligny-Montrachet

Filters & Sorting

A slightly riper nose combines notes of just sliced pear and apple along with background nuances of floral and zest trimmed in mildly more wood influence. The rich, delicious and beautifully textured medium-bodied flavors possess just a bit better depth and persistence on the firmer finale. This too is very good, indeed it could pass for a lower-level villages wine. 2027+ ♥ Outstanding Top valueAllen Meadows, Burghound (87-89) Points

Faiveley is definitely a Domaine on the Ascention The 2020 Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Champ Gain is excellent, mingling scents of citrus oil and peach with notions of freshly baked bread, hazelnuts and nutmeg. Medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, it's satiny but tensile, with a racy spine of acidity and a long, saline finish. William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 92-94+ BH 90-92

Faiveley is definitely a Domaine on the Ascention In 1879, Puligny added its name to that of its more renowned Grand Cru: Montrachet. Puligny-Montrachet offers exceptional terroirs for the Chardonnay grape variety. The “Les Referts” climat covers 5 hectares of vines and lies at the border of Meursault. This climat produces a taut and mineral wine. Exposition South-East Soil Light, shallow, pebbly soils […]

Slightly more apparent wood surrounds the overtly floral aromas of white and yellow peach and fennel. There is excellent intensity to the concentrated and unusually powerful flavors that culminate in a clean, very dry and impressively long finale. This too is a very fine villages level wine and one that will age. Outstanding ♥Allen Meadows, Burghound

Domaine Bachelet-Monnot Puligny-Montrachet 2023

Chardonnay | Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy

“It has a lifted nose with green apple, a touch of petrichor and just a small reduction. The palate is well balanced with lovely poise. Touches of noisettes and orange rind build through the harmonious and persistent finish. Excellent.”  Neal Martin, Vinous 90-92 Points JM 89-92

Sept 2023 It's always fascinating to read reviews of a wine on release a few years down the track with a glass of the wine in hand.Devoured over 2 nights. Generosity has built along with the depth Burghound was looking to develop over time.  Any oak that may have been present on release has melded seamlessly in.Graced by an entrancing perfume, a little baking spice and lemon curd amongst an array of ripe fruits. The mouthfeel caresses through the full length of a very long palate wit

As is often the case, there is a touch of exotic character in the form of pineapple and white peach along with hints of pear and oak toast. The vibrant, delicious and denser middleweight flavors also flash evident minerality on the firm, balanced and markedly more complex finale. Lovely. “The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts 1er Cru has a compelling bouquet with wet limestone, petrichor and Granny Smith on the nose. This has very good vigor. The palate is well-balanced with an understated opening, just a light walnut and white peach note emerging with time and rounding out the finish. Very fine.” Neal Martin, Vinous 91-93 Points JM 91-94

“Mid lemon yellow. A little more oak on the nose though the power of the fruit boosts through. This is really complex on the palate – firstly an immense volume of ripe fruit, with a touch of bacon fat, then a little lemon wash. Lots of protein in the wines this year, I am told. Impressive length. Drink from 2027-2035.” JM 93-96 Points

“The 2023 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru has more vigor on the nose compared to the Les Referts, more mineral-driven with yellow flowers and a touch of lemon verbena. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, a lovely caressing texture and hints of chamomile infusing the orchard fruit toward the finish. The acidity keeps this tight and focused—a beautifully sculpted Puligny.” Neal Martin, Vinous 93-95 Points JM 93-96

Faiveley is definitely a Domaine on the Ascention Aromas of hazelnuts, pear, confit citrus, honeycomb, toasted almonds and fresh bread introduce the 2020 Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, a full-bodied, rich and muscular wine that's layered and concentrated, girdled by bright acids and concluding with a long, saline finish.William Kelley, The Wine Advocate 93-95 BH 92-94

Domaine de la Vougeraie Grand Cru ‘Bâtard-Montrachet’ 2022

Chardonnay | Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy

Generous but not dominant wood sets off intensely floral-suffused aromas of white peach, spice, acacia and citrus confit. The palate impression of the medium-bodied flavors is not as dense, mineral-driven or powerful but they are still impressive, especially in the context of having even better depth and persistence. This is a stylish and ageworthy Bâtard. (from a .38 ha holding divided into 3 parcels, two of which are on the Chassagne side and the remainder on the Puligny side of the divide) 2
